I can't believe it's the 16th of January and I think I've put on more weight since Christmas. Blush

I've missed the boat with the other threads on here.

Any other late starters want to join me?

I've got shed loads of weight to lose, it's going to be a long old journey for me. Smile

Hi, I'll join you but I warn you in am crap at checking in ;). I would like to ditch 8lbs in the next four weeks before a big holiday, then ditch any holiday gain then maintain. I'm using the value diary ap which is basically weight watchers with out the meetings and cost so I point everything and track using the app :). I'm also doing two gym classes a week and running a couple of times too (bleurgh)

How are you planning to do it? Do you have any mini goals? Rewards planned? I lost three stone last year and am waiting until out holiday and will treat my self to a couple of dresses from my favourite shop that aren't available in the uk :)

Misfitless · 20/01/2014 10:47

Hi Peachy.

It's just the two of us then, by the looks of it!

Thanks for replying.

You sound very disciplined, the opposite of me!

I am re-starting today on the 5:2 and today is a fast day, but I'm determined that this is it...I usually get up on Monday and think "I'm starting my diet today."

Next Monday I want to wake up and think "Well, here's to week two of healthy eating."

How are you getting on?

Three of us now. But too am bad at checking in. I want to lose a pound a week until Easter by doing 5:2 and exercise.

Misfitless · 20/01/2014 10:53

Have you tried the 5:2 before, Pennies?

Welcome, by the way x

4 now-yay!

I might be kicked off though as I've cheated and started when the kids went back to school (jan 7th).

I've been doing 5:2 and walking to school where possible (2 mile round trip). My biggest problem is not going mad on non-fast days-I'm naturally a greedy snacked so need to keep a tight rein and not sabotage my good work!

I haven't weighed myself (for me this is the way to madness, and does more harm than good to my efforts), but clothes already feeling looser and tummy feeling a tad smaller so fingers crossed....

Good luck all, hope it's a good Monday where you are

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 20/01/2014 11:01

Hi, another late starter here. Cannot believe how much I have put on over Christmas. I need to get out of the snacking habit and lose roughly 18 pounds (ideally a bit more, but that would be a bloody good start).

I like Slimming World and have had good results in the past, but I definitely need to start some kind of exercise regime as I do nothing at the minute.

Any support/ideas/anything would be fabulous.

Can I join?

2014bestever · 20/01/2014 11:38

Can I Join?! I have 10lbs to get off. I am going to do this by eating healthy and going to the gym 2/3 times a week. I am not giving myself a time frame as I don't want to get dishearten if I don't get to my goal (usually what happenes then I give up!) I also want to improve my fitness and tone up!

Peachypossum · 20/01/2014 20:15

Hi :). Great to see so many joiners!

So, I'm pointing and had all if my weeklies over the weekend! It was epic ;) I had wine (lots) harvester and door step toast! Today I am back to daily points so have had:

Banana and yoghurt (weight watchers 1pt)
Macdonalds grilled chicken and bacon salad (6pts with balsamic dressing)
M&S count on us chicken and mushroom meal (6pts)

I ran for just over half an hour so earnt 3pts but have decided to not eat them just incase I missed any points adding op over the weekend.

So, I still have 13 out of 26 points to eat this evening! I'm planning a white options hot choc (1pt) and maybe something yummy and sweet ;)

How are you all getting on? I couldn't do 5:2 as my tummy hurts if I don't eat regularly (ibd) but some of the guys in my office are doing it.

I'm hoping to see the stone tick over this week, weigh in is Friday morning in my house so that's when the weekly points and exercise points turn over too, ready for wicked weekends! I lost 3 stone this way last year and definitely need the weekend indulgence to cope ;)

Peachypossum · 20/01/2014 20:17

Anyone who likes weight watchers or following a programme might like value diary, it's basically ww but all on the app, so no meetings or weekly cost :)

Pennies · 21/01/2014 10:35

I did the 5:2 last year with limited success I have to admit. My problem was that I went totally nuts for sugar the day after and overdid it so there wasn't any weight loss. I'm wise to that now and realise that I have to keep and eye on calories on the other days too, so I'm keeping to 1,300 per day mid week and 1,500 at weekends.

Exercise wise I have just got a dog so will be going out for a couple of walks a day to help burn off a few cals.

Pennies · 21/01/2014 10:37

Today I did that thing you're not supposed to do: bought a dress in the next size down so I can get slim enough to get into it. It's for a ball in the Summer.

Peachypossum · 22/01/2014 07:29

Ooohh, I'd love to go to a ball, I'm very jealous! I'm sure you'll be stunning in it!

I struggled a bit yesterday as my husband took me out for lunch in my break, so I ate more than usual then but was still hungry at home, then I treated myself to a big mug of hot milk and some mini dimes at bed time. I'm hoping my exercise will redress the balance!

Quite pleased to discover that whilst milk is higher in points than I thought dimes are really low, so tonight will be a bed time treat of black earl grey and mini dimes ;)

How is everyone else doing?

Peachypossum · 25/01/2014 11:01

You've all disappeared!

I had a gain this week, not sure how I managed it but there are a few factors I think played a part - hormones and some hospital bits that would have possibly given me a false loss last week. Onward and downwards!

What sort of things are you all eating? I'm making up some big batches of 0 point soup today for the week, butternut squash and spice and maybe a garden vegetable one too.

Mexican tonight, homemade chill with low fat cheese, nachos (WW) with home made salsa then churros and fresh fruit with chocolate dip (I wont be having churros and will knock up a low fat dip, maybe a yogurt with a little choc melted in)

How are you all getting on?

Toowittoowoo · 25/01/2014 17:39

Hello, can I join?

Not really dieting at the moment but trying to cut out the crap and do more exercise. If I can stick to 3 healthy meals a day and no rubbishy snacks I'll be happy. Might not sound very hard but I could do with the support!

DD2 is only 8 weeks old so I have not braved the scales yet as I'm going to give myself 8 weeks of healthy eating before I weigh myself!

Finding time to exercise is proving more difficult though...but hopefully that will get easier too.

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 27/01/2014 09:15

Sorry, on second week of having at least one child off school ill!! I need to organise my meal plan etc. I will dare to weigh myself tomorrow morning and will have an idea what I need to lose... have been avoiding it!

I want to start the couch to 5k (had it on my phone for ages) but have had a cold/sore throat and don't want to exercise when unfit (not an excuse), so once all kids are back at school and I have some free time in the morning, I will start... am going to drag one of the dogs along with me so I'm less self-conscious.

I also need to cut the crap out of my diet, but unfortunately I am an absolute crisp-face!
