5"8 and size 10? How much do you weigh?

I'm 5"8 and have lived my life yo yoing. One dream I've always had is to be a size 10! (I know that's crazy to set as a goal) but its hard to know what sort of weight I would have to get to, to be a size 10. You see celebs in magazines stating their height/weight but 1) they all seem to be shorter 2) they are size 6/8 and 3) are they telling the truth? So if you are 5"8 and a size 10 would you mind sharing what your scales say? Grin TIA

Loathe to answer really, but I fit lots of size 10s (and many size 12s - shops are hardly consistent...) at bang on 10st. I'm (just under - fume!) 5'8".

Twiddlebum · 15/12/2013 07:26

Thank you charity.... 10st sounds very achievable to me... I was hoping to hear that kind of value as I was starting to think everyone (I.e from magazines) were 7 stone!!!

I'm 5'8" and size 10 - weigh around 9 st 6 lbs.

Apparentlychilled · 15/12/2013 07:33

I'm just under 5'8" and a 10. Am currently heavily pg but usually something like 9st5lb- 9st 10lb.

FunnyLittleFrog · 15/12/2013 07:35

About 9 and a half stone

RegainingUnconsciousness · 15/12/2013 07:35

I'm just under that height too and usually around 9.5st. More if I've done actual exercise (muscle having greater mass/density).

Ignore all that sleb nonsense - it's all rigged for magazines or blatantly made up. Have you seen the series The Men Who Made Us Fat and The Men Who Made Us Thin? Both are on 4OD in think.

FoxyHarlow123 · 15/12/2013 07:38

Just under 10 stone.

LightastheBreeze · 15/12/2013 07:38

Hmm, I'm taller than that so would say about 9.5 stone going by my weight. It really depends if you mean a Topshop size 10 or a M & S size 10, they are very different.

Twiddlebum · 15/12/2013 07:44

So 9 1/2 - 10 is what I need to aim for. Thanks guys that is the motivation I was looking for! Im 12 stone now so only 2 - 2 1/2 stone to lose!! (Much better than thinking I've got 5 stone to lose!!! I would absolutely love to be a size 10 for my birthday (March) and go on a shopping spree to London Grin

I'm 12 in some shops and 10 in others and I weigh exactly 10 stone. Like others have said, try not to take any notice of what celebrities say they weigh, they're either lying or unhealthily thin. I was ill a couple of years ago and went down to just over nine stone and I was a size 8, and many people kindly mentioned how awful I looked!

Apparentlychilled · 15/12/2013 09:48

Yep, I'd second comments about ignoring others' weight- my dsis is an inch or two taller than me and looks like death at 10st (also much bigger frame). I've a very small build so I look big once over over 10.5stone. And on the other hand, a couple of yrs ago I lost some weight by accident and ended up about 8stone 9 and looked like death, even though I'm sure I was then allegedly heavier than most selebs.

bigTillyMintspie · 15/12/2013 09:50

I am 5'8" and when I was size 10, I weighed about 9 1/2 - 10 stone,

busylizzie76 · 15/12/2013 23:22

I'm 5ft7" and currently weigh 9.5 stone....I would say I'm a 10-12.....I am a standard size 10 when I weigh 9 stone.....

kchapper5 · 15/12/2013 23:27

I'm just over 5ft 8 and I'm (when not 38weeks pregnant) 9 1/2 to 10 stone and size 10 in most shops. But as light said there's a massive difference between a topshop 10 and a M&S 10

Kelly1814 · 15/12/2013 23:32

I'm 5 foot 9 and 58 kilos which is just over 9 stone.

RandallFloyd · 15/12/2013 23:42

Yep, seems I'm the same as everyone else.

5'8", size 8-10, 9 1/2 stone.

I'd say you'd be pushing it to lose 2 1/2 stone by March but you won't be far off.

TalkinPeace · 16/12/2013 14:36

The other thing to bear in mind is that if you are fit and toned, you will be slimmer for the same weight as an unfit person.

magicballs · 16/12/2013 14:38

I am 5 foot 7, so slightly shorter than you, weigh 11 stone and I am a size 12, sometimes a size 10. I have a long body and long legs so I manage to hide the weight. But I am over weight (I feel it, even if my BMI is fine) and I am going on a stricter diet after Christmas

Chippingnortonset123 · 16/12/2013 14:39

I am 9 stone two.

SouthernComforts · 16/12/2013 14:51

Magicballs are you me?

magicballs · 16/12/2013 14:53

SouthernComforts Xmas Grin maybe! I do need to lose weight though, I can feel it in myself, and I want to squeeze back into my pre-toddler french connection jeans!

SnakeyMcBadass · 16/12/2013 14:57

I'm 5'9" and weigh 10st 3lbs and wear a 10. I still wear a ten anywhere between 9.5 stone and 10.5 stone. Shop sizing is random.

lougle · 16/12/2013 14:58

5'8 (1 cm under) and 9st 4lbs, size 10 is sometimes a bit loose, but size 8 is tight.

MolotovCocktail · 16/12/2013 15:00

I'm 5'8, size 10 and weigh 9st.

chickydoo · 16/12/2013 15:04

5ft7.5 (a bit shorter than you op)
I am a size 8-10 depending on shop and weigh around 8 and a half stone ( am small framed, not skinny with a fair bit of muscle)

I think frame & body shape play their part
