Dealing with temptation in cold weather.

I'm generally quite disciplined, but find dealing with the munchies hard in cold weather. I seem to crave carbs and sweet stuff all the time. Any ideas? I'm already drowning in a sea of bovril and ginger tea.

Thanks.

Soup!

Swedes and turnips are deliciously sweet in winter, add leek, garlic & onion and blitz them.

Also chunky med. veg. soup - tinned tomatoes, garlic, onion, herbs, carrot, celery, peppers & courgette. Really filling!

For snacks I like Carr's cheese melts with light cream cheese or for a sugar fix I lightly spread a Hob Nob, digestive or crumpet with honey. 1 is enough to satisfy a craving. And I always have sweet satsumas at hand!

It's tough in winter though isn't it?

I have the same cravings as you and am on a 1200 calorie diet - heres what I eat on an average day (couldn't give up carbs or chocolate!)

Breakfast - poached egg, 2 slices of toast (warbertons small loaf, medium thickness, no butter) and tomato ketchup (best sandwich ever!)

Lunch- half a tub of soup (something from tesco finest range usually) and half a roll

Afternoon snacks - banana and packet of crisps (sun bites usually but something around 120 calories)

Dinner - the other half soup and roll

Late night snack - kit kat and hot chocolate (an options flavoured one with a dash of milk)

I also drink coffee and tea throughout the day. I've tried to replace my late night chocolate kick but it gives me something to look forward to and stops me caving in completely!

I'm sure I could have a more nutritionally sound diet! but this is whats helping me lose the weight (about 14lbs). Once I've lost it, I'll get to the gym and start eating more.
