After a bit of hand holding as after doing virtually no exercise for 7 years I have joined the gym. I used to go often (x4-5 per week) at one point, but work & babies took over. Anyway I have 5 months of mat leave left & DH able to look after DDs plus no joining fee or contract and £16 a month I thought now was the time.

Initial aim is 8kg weight loss by Christmas. No alcohol til then & no cakes or biscuits either. Aiming for at least 2 gym sessions a week.

Wish me luck!!

Good luck !!!

Good luck!

If the gym is hard to fit in maybe think about c25k. So easy to fit round the hectic life of a mother.

You might actually find now is the best time for gym motivation - when you have small children getting out of the house feels like a bit of a treat, even if it's going to the gym! Good luck

How's it going ?!? Still on target ?! I found a 'fitbit' helped me considerably - as it tracks your movements and tells you how much you should be eating in balance to what you are doing - ie the more active you are the more you can eat ! You can log your food intake and water etc and it does all the maths for you ! I only bought the cheap small one as it runs on batteries and you don't have to charge it ! Am very happy with it ! Toughly recommend it ! It's really really good at keeping you on track AND it motivates you by sending you messages too !!

Worth having a look at their website !

Have been to gym 3 times in my first week. weight loss only half a kilo but that is entirely down to being away for the weekend on a course with free food, wine, chocolate etc etc. I may have taken advantage but less since than previously. Hoping for a better loss this week with best food behaviour!! & gym sessions booked with hubby for Thursday, Sunday & maybe Friday.

I try and do something physical for at least 40 mins per day - wether that's full on , no holds barred, housework or power walking - or a gym session - as long as it gets my heart rate up !

great news that your hubby is joining you !!!
