What do you think I can achieve by then? Considering Ive been doing pretty pants on my diet? Do you think its worth trying a fad diet so I look good in my (yet to be bought outfit)

There are people there I want to wow!

Can you pretend its your wedding? I lost half a stone in the week before my wedding through sheer stress! ( have been told since I look too skinny in my dress. Was going for the slim, not skinny look)

survivour · 18/02/2004 12:41

Becca, you could become diabetic like me! only temperarily of course! I lost 4 kilos in 3 days, puked my lungs out. Only just getting back to normal now. No but on a serious note!!!!!! You can wow people with your brain-- what I have read on your threads, you will have no trouble. And carry your confididence, we are mumsnetters, no-one will knock us off our pedistle......

Plus there are always those enormous thigh and belly-crushing girdly things. They're great for getting a waist where none exists. Still, with a reasonable diet, not too strict or faddy, I reckon you could still drop half a stone by March 6th without being unhealthy.

bundle · 18/02/2004 15:32

what variety of loveliness are you looking for? flouncy? dramatic?

Beccarollover · 18/02/2004 15:42

hmmm not sure - I don't tend to do flounce too much - but my usual going out style isnt formal enough for a wedding.

Possibly go for fab dress and shoes

Or bodice and trousers

Something I can wear again to a party

CountessDracula · 18/02/2004 15:49

What shape/colouring are you?

CountessDracula · 18/02/2004 15:49

And how posh the wedding?

Beccarollover · 18/02/2004 15:51

It wont be ultra ultra posh - reasonably respectable hotel for whole event - will be changing for night time do so just need daytime outfit.

Im blonde, size 12, pale skin but will no doubt be st tropezed!

Problem area stomach - quite skinny arms and butt

OP posts:
Beccarollover · 18/02/2004 15:53

Quite fancy a prom dress

OP posts:
CountessDracula · 18/02/2004 15:55

How about a smart dress with ruched (sp?) bit round the tummy?

bundle · 18/02/2004 16:03

prom dresses v big this season, lots of florals & pastels if your complexion can take it

Beccarollover · 18/02/2004 16:08

I often wear pink and black (no comments coddy) and have seen some nice black with pink polka dots, strapless with a little bow. I might look for one like this as i have lots of bags/shoes/accessories to match

Two things

Black at a wedding~?
Will I carry it off with my overhang

OP posts:
LadyCodworth · 18/02/2004 17:17

I love pink and black (puzzled face)

bundle · 18/02/2004 17:18

two words
support underwear

bundle · 18/02/2004 17:18

(is it the "never wear colour with black" mantra of trinny & susannah??)

Beccarollover · 18/02/2004 17:19

thought u would comment on my black and pink stilletoes

OP posts:
Beccarollover · 18/02/2004 17:21

so what about black at wedding?

OP posts:
bundle · 18/02/2004 17:22

church or register office?

Hulababy · 18/02/2004 17:23

Black is fine Becca, especially if you are wearing another colour with it. I know lots of people who have worn black at weddinds, including bride's mothers and groom's mothers. No one ever looked 'wrong' or out of place either.

Actually, I know a bride who wore black too - it was a small wedding in New York. I didn't go but seen the photo's - a friend's sister. She wore a blacktrouser suit.

Hulababy · 18/02/2004 17:23

The others were church weddings BTW

Hulababy · 18/02/2004 17:25

OH, and it you have any worries of overhang - get to M&S underwear department for some of their 'magic' type knickers. Worked a treat under my cocktail dress at the ball! Don't get them too tight though as you won't be able to eat much - there again, might help with the diet as well then
