I am finding it impossible. Crave all the things I shouldn't.

Not good

Nah - start a few of days after - my mood always improves when my period has stopped. Eat chocolate now instead!

Mind you marthamoo after the incident today maybe I should lay off the food a bit

Ah now- my weightwatchers instructor told me you lose more when you are on, which makes sense as your body is doing more. So eat now and diet when period comes. voila!

Blossomhill · 22/06/2006 21:56

peachy - that's the kind of advice I need.

Obviously am hoping and praying I do come on as I was a bit silly this month

I've heard that the cravings can be regulated by eating small but more regular carb based meals in the run up- certainly this will regulate blood sugar which canngo haywire before a period and cause cravings for rubbish. But also, choc contains phenylalanines (sp) which apparently mimic the same endorphins produced in the brain when youn are in the early stages of love, thereby creating feel good moods. Whether the body craves as a way of making up for a depressed endorphin production, or as a learned thing I am not sure.

But dark chocolate contains iron, and iron is important in menstruating women so it's not that bad. .
