There was a thread on this the other day. I believe that it is 10 points if you are solely bf'ing. How do you mix the two diets?

hotmama · 19/06/2006 09:58

I am. Smile Extra 10 points if exclusively bf and 5 when bf and introducing solids. Easy to combine GI and ww - just choose GI choices - this is covered in the ww books.

I did a thread a few weeks ago (but didn't get many responses Sad) so perhaps we should have a bf/ww thread. Smile

I am finding that I am losing weight reallly slowly - usually it drops off. Sad

Dior · 19/06/2006 10:02

If you have GI choices of food, try No Count (WW) as it might go woth GI better than Full Choice.

Hotmama - How slowly is slowly? One lb a week is a great loss, especially if you are bf'ing...

Munz · 19/06/2006 10:06

just little things like porridge etc u know ww points but foods with l;ow gi thingys as opposed to high.

one q thou, how do u cut out the choccy! lol.

I am starting on Monday

baby only 8 weeks but I am so sick of having no clothes that fit

so I'll join a bf ww thread Smile

hotmama · 19/06/2006 10:07

I joined when dd2 was 6 weeks and she is now 18 weeks - I've only lost 8lbs. Sad When doing ww and not bf, I would have lost 8lbs in the first 2 weeks. Going to take me years to get back to goal weight at this rate ( and I haven't been at goal since 1988! Wink)

I also find it really difficult to have all the 10 points - my leader said I could drop a few so going to try to see if this makes any difference. Smile

Think I'll resurrect my thread to see if I get any responses. Smile

Hotmama - OK, you have lost over 0.5lbs per week. WW only ask people to lose between half and two pounds a week, so you are doing fine. I know it is not what you are used to, but remember that you are bf'ing too, so you are putting your body through quite a lot! Don't beat yourself up or expect things to be the same as last time you lost weight.

Don't forget that, while you are eating more healthily, you are doing your body and heart good as well as losing weight. Can you do any exercise to boost your losses?

Remember to give yourself praise for what you have lost so far...

hotmama · 19/06/2006 10:17

Dior - I know I should think that .5lb a week (average) is O.K but I really could do with shifting 3 stone and at 39 it is hard. My gym membership was frozen when pregnant so I have started going back.

My body shape is just - well - baggy! I had a c-section with dd2 and have a really lovely 'overhang' mmm nice.

Hopefully, I will start shifting weight with the support of you lovely ladies. Smile

Dior · 19/06/2006 10:19

Don't get me wrong, I understand how frustrating it all is. Don't forget that, at 39, weight will come off more slowly (sadly Sad). Weight loss is such a horrible thing. I can't believe that I put 2.5 stones (of the 3.5 that I lost) back on, of which some was whilst I was A LEADER Shock

Munz · 19/06/2006 11:14

:( I have over hang :( ok shall we do a new thread or keep to this - that means I have to get on the scales don't it??? Blush ok girls are we ready then - i've just walked the dogs around the estate taking 25 mins - it's a start.
