Can you go to Weight Watchers (and lose weight successfully) if you are breastfeeding?

My friend wants me to start going with her next week. I do need to lose a stone but am breastfeeding.

Yes, you get extra points too! Can't remember how many, but it depends on whether you are solely b/f or starting to wean etc too.

Hope it goes well...you can join our WW threads if you want support on here.

oh good so they take it into account then? have never done it before.

Yes, hang on, I'll check in my Leader manual...

Dior · 16/06/2006 13:15

Bum - doesn't say. There is a pink leaflet that the Leader can give you on Breastfeeding, that will tell you how many extra points you can have. I think it is 10 a day for full bf and 5 a day for weaning and bf.

I did WW after having dd2 and will probably be there again in a few weeks' time. I lost 4 and a half stone and it was brilliant, I was allowed to eat LOADS. I think it was an extra eight points a day, but maybe I'm wrong or maybe things have changed.

Dior · 16/06/2006 13:17

No. I'm probably wrong...amazing how quickly I'm forgetting all the Leader stuff Blush

Enid · 16/06/2006 13:18

but I am eating normally now and not losing any weight Sad

So what do you eat in a typical day?

When I was doing WW I ate loads volume-wise but all stuff that was as low in points as possible.

My number one tip is Dutch honeycake (available in Sainsbury's) - it's delicious, virtually fat-free, organic and low in points!

Dior · 16/06/2006 13:21

It's not how much Enid, it's what you are eating. I eat loads of bulk, but it is all low fat. Can you give us an example of what type of thing you have?

Enid · 16/06/2006 13:27

no I am too embarrassed Blush

I eat A LOT

quite healthy stuff but too much of it

I love butter and olive oil too Blush

and wine (although only have one glass a night)

The butter and oil might have to go, or be reduced a lot...sorry! I love butter too, but I don't have it at 1 point per level teaspoon! Shock

emkana · 16/06/2006 13:29

hmmmmmmm...
when I was doing WW I ate no butter, oil or cheese.

But you only have a stone to lose so it wouldn't be for long!

emkana · 16/06/2006 13:29

Dior, I like our simultaneous posting! Grin

Enid · 16/06/2006 13:30

bread and butter is my downfall

also...I love...sweets

have bag of Percy Pigs on desk Blush

OP posts:
emkana · 16/06/2006 13:32

I love sweets too! Had loads even while on WW.

Sweets better than choc, less points.

But no butter, sorry! Grin

Dior · 16/06/2006 14:10

Percy Pigs...drool! I like the Percy and Friends ones...

Breastfeeding helps! Sorry to swear on a WW thread and say slimming world Grin.. but the easiest I have ever found that plan (not SO diff to WW.. I have done both) was when I was bf...
