Why the hell haven't I lost any weight?

Help me!!

Over the last 12-18 months, I have put on about 1.5 stone, just by generally eating a bit more than I should, I guess.

So, I decided enough is enough, and 4 weeks ago, stopped eating all refined carbs. So, with the exception of rice maybe twice, a few chips and a jacket potato or two, I have been bread/rice/pasta/cake/biscuit/potato free for a month. I have lost no weight. Not an ounce.

WTF? And WTF do I do now? Am too scared to start eating carbs again in case it triggers some weight gain, and still really, really want to ditch this extra chub.

HHHEEEEELLLLPPPPP!!!

Calm down. Go see BIWI's low carb threads and look up 'bootcamp'. It's an all-or-nothing thing. Try it. Yes, it is harsh for the first 2 weeks, but by God it works.

I was you in December last year - 25lbs piled on god knows how. BIWI's bootcamp in New Year saved me.

Keep a food diary recording food and portion size.
Are you falling for stuff like food that says it's low fat but has loads of sugar? Are your 'few chips' actually amounting to a small portion?
Are you eating leftovers?
Have you any hormonal stuff that inhibits weight loss such as pcos?
Are you pregnant?

Could you look at your portion sizes ? It is all too easy too eat healthily but with too large a portion. I check all packaging to check correct serving and measure that amount out.

Well if you are trying to do low carb then you have to do it properly. Just cutting out some carbs won't make you lose weight.

Are you exercising too?

Download myfitnesspal and get in the habit of logging your food. It's amazing how many calories are in things that you don't realise!
