Advice/Top tips please - Anyone else doing Weightwatchers and bf?

I've been doing ww for about 10 weeks now and I'm losing weight really slowly. Dd2 is 16 weeks and is exclusively bf so I am trying to add the 10 points a day - but I am finding it really hard to eat all the points - healthily. Wink

Before, when I have done ww the weight came off a lot quicker.

Is anyone finding this to be the case? Should I cut down my points to try and lose weight more quickly - but will this effect my milk supply?

Any advice or top tips would be gratefully received. TIA Smile

Bump for the after-work crowd?

Surely, I can't kill my own thread? Smile

hotmama, i did WW while I was BF and found that if I ate healthily I could save a few points every day for a glass of wine or two Blush. I wouldn't cut the points yet - I don't think it would affect your supply but it might make the long feeds less enjoyable. I also found I was a lot more tired if I didn't stoke up while feeding.

When I wanted to kick start my loss, I would eat lots of fruit and veg to get the most food for my points. I also didn't lose evenly. Some weeks it would be 3 or 4 lbs and other weeks nothing. Didn't seem to correlate with what I had been eating either particularly. I think with BF your body goes very much at its own pace. Stick with it as the weight will go!

Thanks for the reply - thought I was being blanked! Smile

I am finding my weight loss all over the place, whereas previously I found it a lot easier to lose weight this time it is sooooo slow.

I thought the weight would be falling off if I dieted sensibly and bf - obviously not.

Any other advice from mners? Smile

Hi hotmama, my dd3 is now 5 1/2 months and fully bf, I am also desperate to lose weight but am findng it very hard even though I've tried to be very good about sticking to diets. I think that nature's a clever thing and realises that you're breastfeeding so conserves all your calories in a special way to make milk so we don't see any weight loss! Does that make sense??
Not fair is it?

think you are only supposed to lose 1-2 lb a month when bfing, Hotmama. that's why it' so slow - it's designed to be so.

frustrating but keep it up!
