Try to ditch the fags

Your dp shouldn't be commenting on your figure when you're pregnant

stowsettler · 12/07/2013 22:10

What Captain said. How fucking dare he?! When he's grown another human being in him he'll be entitled to comment. In the meantime relax, enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and come back in 3 months time!

I lost my baby weight with Slimming World, but she was nearly 1 when I started and her brother was 4.

Yeah ditch the fags. If you're down to 1 a day, it won't be hard. (Speaking from experience) You'll feel better about yourself.
Also speaking from experience, breastfeeding helped me lose weight very quickly.
Your partner - well, what did he expect? Ask him.
These men are idiots.

breastfeed...
I can't believe how quickly my belly has gone down even in the first week. Ok its still squishy and that will take exercise to tone up, but if you don't poke me then you'd never know.
If you do this then you do need to make sure you eat well, like in pg small amounts often of good energy food like nuts, dried fruit, protein snacks like chicken and ham rather than cake and chocolate! Although a bit of that is needed when you are hormonal with the baby blues!
Added bonus is my boobs have grown at the same time - so where I had a squarish/sporty body shape I look more womanly and curvy than ever before.
Good luck, I hope your partner isn't creating the stress about your body shape, if he is then he needs to be put straight on what it means to be pregnant. I like the quote that it takes 9 months to put on all the weight you should give yourself 9 months to get back to normal, so anything quicker is a bonus...

Firstly ditch the fags, they really won't help you or the baby. Secondly tell your dp to get back in his fucking box and shut the hell up ... and whilst he is on his way, make you some dinner and get you some fucking chocolate! How dare he! Grr fuming on your behalf.

I was about 57kg when I got preggers and weigh about 76kg now with another 9 weeks to go. I seriously think that us smaller ladies put on more weight during pregnancy than those who are larger. We need it, to feed the baby, for labour and breast feeding. I have been addicted to chocolate - although now converted to chocolate covered ice cream. I can't help it, but I do try to limit myself to one thing a day. Sometimes that is a small chocolate biscuit, sometimes it is one bar of chocolate (size varies from 35g to 500g Blush) but it is still one thing per day! Try the same, chocolate is good for you, makes you happy inside.

I've no advice about how to loose weight post birth, but I've heard breast feeding works a treat. If not, it really shouldn't matter, give yourself some time to recover, eat well, look after baby and get some exercise when you can. If you look after yourself you'll get back to where you were.

And seriously, have words with the dp. He should be supporting you and reminding you how amazing your body is growing a tiny person, and how much he loves you even if you think (or even if you actually do) look like a whale!

Have I missed something?? Did OP actually SAY her DH had commented or are people just presuming that - maybe it has caused problems in the relationship because OP doesn't feel great at the moment.

9 months on 9 months off. There is no fast way and the slower you lose the excess weight the longer it will stay off. Def ditch the one fag a day though and try enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. when you have your lovely new baby I am sure weight loss will be the last thing on your mind, for a while anyway :)
