Low cal drinks. Trying to kick diet coke habit.....

And don't know what to have instead. I don't like water, fruit teas, vanilla or green tea or low cal squash, and I just don't know what to drink.

I have to kick the habit, but am stumped. As I said I don't like any teas, but I need a flavoured low cal drink.

Any ideas?

why do you need to stop drinking it? You could try other fizzy flavours if its the caffeine that is the issue

ilovepowerhoop · 09/06/2013 21:45

milk?

orangeandemons · 09/06/2013 21:47

It's the fizz I'm not keen on anymore.

flavoured water?

bonzo77 · 09/06/2013 22:02

Elderflower cordial made with tap water.

Wine?!

DeepPurple · 09/06/2013 22:03

Wine...

orangeandemons · 09/06/2013 22:04

Hmm possible. Only like Volvic strawberry though

Adams ale

ilovepowerhoop · 09/06/2013 22:07

wine's not very low calorie though

InsanelyBrainDeprived · 09/06/2013 22:08

Gin and slimline?

Relaxedandhappyperson · 09/06/2013 22:09

Sparkling water with lemon juice?
Red bush tea (with or without milk)?
Peppermint tea?

I've gone onto full sugar squash just to avoid the artificial sweeteners.

Relaxedandhappyperson · 09/06/2013 22:10

Plain water with lemon juice if the fizz is problematic.

looseleaf · 09/06/2013 22:12

I sec

looseleaf · 09/06/2013 22:14

Sorry - I second water with lemon juice. I mainly drink cups of tea and coffee but think might switch to this too and hope for gleaming white teeth as keep thinking mine are looking less white than did!

looseleaf · 09/06/2013 22:16

Have you tried putting mint leaves in your water for a few hours? Sorry to sound so wholesome as I eat a lot of junk at moment but this is actually very nice/ refreshing

Startail · 09/06/2013 22:20

Black coffee, but I guess that's just swapping your bad hobby for mine.

In any case diet coke is horrible, real sugary coke is far nicer.

Hobby, habbit Blush

Possibly lemon and hot water < feels stomach turning at the thought>

I spent some time pondering on my strange tastes. I don't actually think I like anything except very very weak coffee or diet coke. Everything else is too astringent. I want something not watery but low cal. Mission impossible I know[ grin]

Don't put too much lemon in it - it's surprisingly nice.

You can even add a small amount of sugar and it really helps the taste without being as sticky as squash. Or as calorific.
