Here's to more success and lots more support.

OP posts:

oh and thanks guys for all the congrats - still kinda can't believe it - but I have until 24th May 2008 to be stick-insect like for my float down the aisle. Now ay in hell will I look like a hippo in a tutu that day!

suejonez · 29/05/2006 16:51

The soul shack mian course food is all a bit of a blur as I was too besotted by the pudding and there wasn;t room in my head for anything else. Southern fried chicken was the best in my opinion (very crispy) but the pudding .

Key Lime Pie - the best I've tasted (touch of ginger in it I think) with berry compote, ice cream AND cream (though TBH they didn't need both).

Yes the pudding is worth travelling from Scotland for.

schneebly · 29/05/2006 16:54

oh god that sounds divine! I have never had key lime pie but always wanted to try it!

suejonez · 29/05/2006 16:59

be glad you don't have one around the corner...

schneebly · 29/05/2006 17:04

I live about 11 miles from any restaurants or takeaways so not much eating out and less temptation! I will be having a chinese on tuesday night if I have lost 2lbs or more this week though!

schneebly · 31/05/2006 08:53

well...safe to say that I seem to have had a good week despite the pizza, smarties and various other things I had - I think the key was control - I only had 1/4 of the pizza when I could have had 1/2 etc and was pretty good on balance - lots of salads etc as weather has been nice. I will e-mail WWB now. Smile

JackieNo · 31/05/2006 10:02

Well done, Schneebly! I'm as usual at work, so will weigh and email once I get home this afternoon. Not expecting much, I have to say, but still feeling positive about the whole thing, which I think is the main thingSmile.

coppertop · 31/05/2006 10:27

I had a much better week this week. It was temporarily sabotaged by dh bringing home some small chunky KitKats (yum!) and a buffet meal at the weekend Blush but generally I've been fairly good. :o

I've just e-mailed WWB.

You lot are making me feel hungry! Wink

schneebly · 31/05/2006 10:30

Good to hear you guys sounding positive! I think it is really nice to have this support online - makes a difference. Thanks WWB! Smile Looking forward to the results later....

coppertop · 31/05/2006 10:35

Yes, these threads have been a great help. Last week when I had those awful days when I just couldn't seem to stop bingeing I was tempted to just give up. I logged on here and suddenly found that last bit of willpower that was lurking behind the fridge.....

Yay for the BigMothers! :):):)

TheHonArfy · 31/05/2006 10:36

I haven't been able to post much over the last couple of weeks as very very busy - which must be why I've lost some weight even though my mind isn't on dieting AT ALL. Yay!

am off to email WWB

and will hopefully be posting more often now.

JackieNo · 31/05/2006 10:36

I second that, CoppertopGrin.

suejonez · 31/05/2006 10:49

I haven't had a good week (see earlier posts about key lime pie and southern fried chicken) but I'm hoping to have maintained the same weight. I'll weigh at lunchtime.

Scheebly, given the scare with your MIL I think you've done very well to be so controlled. Easy to fall off the wagon if you're stressed by anything.

Arfy - do we have to call you ma'am now?

suejonez · 31/05/2006 10:51

Hey Coppertop - you found your willpower Grin! Did you know it was behind the fridge or did you stumble across it whilst spring cleaning? I need to make a concerted effort to find mine as I'm away in the Isle of Wight for the weekend so need be to good before and after to limit the damage.

TheHonArfy · 31/05/2006 10:52

oh yes ma'am would be lovely

I might keep the HOn bit. it makes me laugh for some reason

amazonianwoman · 31/05/2006 12:45

Haven't had a very good week Sad Struggling to get motivated and had a BIG weekend. Need a big cyber slap! Off to email WWB

JackieNo · 31/05/2006 12:48

Big weekend here too, amazonianwomanSad. Don't worry - just keep doing the right stuff, and eventually it'll start to happen for you (and will hopefully get to be 'normal') - at least that's what I'm hopingSmile. I'm already starting to automatically eat less/smaller portions of things, at least 75% of the time. Mind you, haven't weighed yet...

amazonianwoman · 31/05/2006 13:12

Thx JackieNo. I think I need to log in here every day, as it does inspire me Smile

I did manage a biggish walk this morning (over 2 hrs) so feel a little more positive. It's frustrating when little ones get older and don't want to sit in their buggies for ages isn't it?!

Off to make a big pot of healthy vegetable soup...

suejonez · 31/05/2006 13:27

amazonianwoman - if you jog with the buggy, you'll be going too fast for the littleones to get out Grin

coppertop · 31/05/2006 13:38

Springcleaning? Me?

I somehow doubt I'll ever be seen on the Good Housekeeping section. :o No that last speck of willpower was calling out to be rescued. :o

AW - I know what you mean about trying to walk any distance with little ones. I can walk miles with dd in her pram but ds1 and ds2 are a nightmare. Ds1's favourite excuse for not wanting to go out anywhere in the first place is "I caaaaaan't! My leg's stuck to the carpet!" And no my housework isn't quite that lacking. Wink

suejonez · 31/05/2006 13:41

I know some of you don;t like "diet" products and I don't often buy them myself but i was desperate for something sweet but substantial at lunchtime today and bought a packet of Shapers mini raspberry cookies at Boots. We were delicious and 99 cals for a bag which did really satisfy my craving. If you have found your self control like Coopertop you could even make the packet strecth for two teabreaks. I'll definitely be buying them again and as they're only small packets I don't have to apply any self control at all Grin

TheHonArfy · 31/05/2006 13:44

they ound yum SueJ

Actually, might have lost weight because have been cleaning and tidying like a mad woman to get our flat valued and on the market. we're going to the estate agents today to instruct him. Hate housework normally (hence why has been such a big job to get the flat respectable Blush but must say it is very good exercise!

suejonez · 31/05/2006 13:47

Does anyone else check the calories before the price!

JackieNo · 31/05/2006 13:51

Oh yes - calories much more importantGrin. Have been taking an apple and some trail mix stuff in to work - it seems to fill me up enough, and takes ages to eat (finally another use for those little pots you use to put purees in when weaningGrin). Being at home would be much more tempting - so much other stuff there to eat.

amazonianwoman · 31/05/2006 14:46

NEVER check price, but always check calories, saturated fat etc etc LOL

Coppertop - love your DS's excuse for not walking! They're too smart for their own good aren't they?

Suejonez - I would actually like to jog with the buggy, but that would mean a shiny new 3-wheeler purchase haha. And as DD is almost 2 I can't really justify it. Well, I can, but DH can't!
