Need to lose a stone but have loads of questions and low motivation!

I've gained a stone and have no idea how Sad barely any of my clothes are fitting (I'm 5"2 so it shows badly!)

Just a few questions for those in the know!

How quickly can you lose a stone?
Will doing a one hour workout, cardio and strength every other day work?
Should I have rest days or do it everyday?
How quickly will I see results with this type of workout?
I'm planning on doing 3 healthy home cooked meals a day and only snacking on raw veg and fruit, will this be ok?
What motivated you the most? (This is where I'm stuck as I know if I put my mind to it I would be fine)

Thank you Smile

You could do it in a month. In my experience it's diet that will do it, not exercise. Weight Watchers and Slimming World are good. Or you could calorie count. My Fitness Pal app will tell you how many calories to have per day based on your height and weight etc.

I'm sure people will be here in a min to tell you to do low carbing air the 5:2 diet! Smile

I share your pain! I am also 5 ft 2 (& a half!) and also have a stone to loose. I am looking at Slimming World but don't get home from work early enough for some groups, and the later ones are too late to leave my kids. Or am I just making excuses? I hate exercise with a vengeance, and have no time to fit it in either. So its got to be a diet for me!

do slimming world still do that unlimited red/green day thing??
if so,i would avoid them!!

Also have a look at the 5:2 diet or alternate fasting diet threads.

You could do it in a month, but two would be better as you would have time to change bad diet habits. If it is short term I'd suggest Myfitnesspal. 1/3 of each meal should be veg or salad and steer clear of all the dietary baddies like mayo, chocolate etc. until you are done. Eggs for breakfast is a good idea ( well, one is plenty for me, with grilled tomatoes on one piece of dry toast) as it stops you feeling hungry all morning.
