Those doing The Fast Diet - tell me how much you've lost and at what rate

I've lost 5lbs in two weeks which I am really pleased with as usually my weight loss is really slow and it's a struggle. When dieting I usually lose 1-2lbs a week if I diet really strictly every day. I tend to get really demoralised by fluctuations on the scales, so I decided not to weigh myself at home at all, and go to Boots to be weighed every two weeks.

I've found the fast days quite easy, so much so that last week I did 3 instead of 2. On my feast days I've been eating sensibly during the week but allowing myself pretty much what I want at weekends, eg porridge with cream and syrup for breakfast, a cream cake, a bit of chocolate.

How much have you lost? How much do you lose per week? Do you eat exactly what you want on feast days or do you try to be good?

Are you a journalist?

RiffyWammal · 05/05/2013 09:32

Ha ha ha! No, sorry I did sound a bit interrogatory didn't I. I don't think the world needs any more Fast Diet articles anyway!

Just asking out of interest (I'm a SAHM).

Ah. Well I've not tried it yet. I am worried that if I do a fast day, the following day I'll basically eat double what I normally eat. I find that I need things in moderation - a steady amount of food at regular times (I'm not over-weight but wouldn't mind losing maybe 5-10lbs). And I worry that I'll be super tired and ratty on the fast days too.

Lots of people losing rate at different rates. I've lost 2 stone and I am now maintaining.

I have been reading that thread frenchfancy but it's so long that it's hard to extract the details of how much & how fast IYSWIM! Smile

LittleMissLucy I had similar worries but they've not come true. I don't feel the need to eat double on feast days, in fact I find I eat less as it feels that my stomach is shrinking. On fast days I feel more energised if anything, but I am careful to eat plenty of protein in my 500 cals and I don't have any carbs, so that may be why.

I've lost about ten pounds, probably in about ten weeks (not sure how long I've been doing it).

It's amazing

LittleMissLucy · 06/05/2013 17:42

Ok well I'd like to give it a whirl.
What do you eat on fast days?
I usually have milky coffee in the morning and either porridge (sweetened with fruit) or a small croissant.
My priority meal really is breakfast!

RiffyWammal · 06/05/2013 17:58

I thought breakfast would be hard for me too as I am usually ravenous when I wake up, and I never normally skip it. But I have found it easy to just have a couple of cups of tea until about lunchtime and go without breakfast - I think if I ate breakfast I would probably be more hungry later. I usually have two boiled or scrambled eggs for lunch, then at about 7pm I have a chicken breast with a large helping of green veg. In between I drink lots of fruit teas.

I know there are lots of more adventures recipes I could try on fast days, but I find it easier to keep it simple - the less thinking about food the better!

That's great. I love boiled eggs. And I see the logic with skipping breakfast. Thanks.
