New week, new thread ... here's to another great week this week!

Weighed and sent here too. Not as good as last week, but more realistic, I think. So all in all, encouragingSmile.

rosebea · 24/05/2006 15:29

Ok I've weighed myself and I'm pleased!!!! Hubby came back from Germany saturday so have eaten celebratory crap this week! Still lost three pounds but I think I'm cheating as the doc's just diagnosed me as having IBS (v.v. painful but it's a fat girls dream come true Blush Grin)

aintmebabe · 24/05/2006 16:16

I'm really pleased cos I lost 2lb again (by the skin of my teeth, I reckon.) Have had to spend ages in the gym this week to get there! Due to really crap week and weekend before that. Believe it or not, I've also started doing half the school run as a sloooooow jog - very wibbly wobbly jogging, but fortunately I don't really care much what any onlookers might think. They can all be wowed with amazement when I lose VAST amounts of weight Grin

"very wibbly wobbly jogging, but fortunately I don't really care much what any onlookers might think. They can all be wowed with amazement when I lose VAST amounts of weight"

Aintmebabe - I love that attitude so much I can't even begin to express it.

You didn't lose weight by the skin of your teeth - you lost it by applying some intelligence ie I've eaten X and therefore I need to exercise more to burn the calories off.

There's no law that says you have to lose weight by cutting calories - you can do it by burning more instead but most of us aren't capable/don't want to/don't have time to do enough. Not suggesting that becoming an exercise-aholic is advisable but there's nothing wrong with eating whatever the hell you like provided you burn more calories than you eat. And it absolutely OK to do it occasionally.

Perhaps we should set up a fat mothers running club?!

JackieNo · 24/05/2006 16:35

Second that, suejonez, that's a brilliant achievement, and attitude, aintmebabeGrin. I really need to make more effort to do some exercise. You're right - stuff what people think - I'll benefit in the long run.

WigWamBam · 24/05/2006 16:37

Wow ... AMB, how brave are you!! I wish I had the nerve. Although I need to get some exercise so perhaps running isn't a bad idea. Under cover of darkness though; running along the B4142 at school run time would scare the life out of me. And the sight of me doing it would scare the life out of the drivers!

I have to admit it was a personal trainer at the gym who got me trying to jog - about 9 months ago, on the treadmill, for 20 seconds first go. My comment then was that it felt like shifting an elephant! I think it's also about re-learning to run - somewhere along the line, you stop because it's all so wobbly!!! I did like the fact that the personal trainer took it seriously (and didn't fall about laughing, like the Martians in that classic Smash ad).

schneebly · 24/05/2006 17:45

It is really good to hear everyone sounding so positive! I am also still feeling really motivated and I dont mind if it takes me a while but I will fit into something from topshop! Grin

Still waiting for a couple more emails ...

Final bump to remind the stragglers Wink

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 24/05/2006 20:38

OK, we seem to have lost a couple this week (although if they still want to email me their losses I can still update them).

Sooooooo .... here we go

Aintmebabe: -2 (total loss: 4lb)
Arfy: -1 (total loss: 5lb)
Coppertop: stayed the same (total loss: 3lb)
JackieNo: -2 (total loss: 8lb)
Rosebea: -2lb (total loss: 8lb)
Schneebly: -2lb (total loss: 4lb)
Suejonez: -2lb (total loss: 3lb)
WWB: -2lb (total loss: 9lb)

So, big smiley faces SmileSmile to JackieNo and Rosebea who have both lost their first half stone (and you'll have to take my word for this but I have actually put smiley face stickers on the cards I'm keeping the records on Grin) and a huge Well Done to everyone. We have lost, in total, 44lb over two weeks - that's more than three stone between us.

OP posts:
schneebly · 24/05/2006 20:59

Oooh that is great WWB! Everyone is doing really well. Smile Well done all of you! 44lbs?!!! Shock That is pretty bloody good!

aintmebabe · 24/05/2006 22:18

Oooh, thanks. I like the 'total loss' bit especially Grin. Well done, everybody! One daaay at a tiiiime...

JackieNo · 24/05/2006 22:20

Wow - how fab are we? I'm so impressed with us all, and very proud of our smiley face stickers - thank you WWBGrin.

amazonianwoman · 24/05/2006 23:35

Hi All

Am I too late to join in??!

I'm 5ft9, around 14st5lbs Blush (need to weigh myself accurately tomorrow morning), need to lose at least 3 stone, ideally 4, but know I'll never be that thin ever again Sad

Please let me in and let me know what I have to do, haven't had time to read all the threads yet sorry.

WigWamBam · 25/05/2006 10:36

No problems, amazonian - if you let me know your starting weight on [email protected] that would be great. Generally the threads are just about support - no pressure to do a weigh-in if you don't want to.

Am just off to start a shiny new thread for Week 3!
