I alwayd find the weekends difficult and it was my nephews birthday today (hence the KK's). yes they are very sweet but I have a terrible sweet tooth so there's no such thing as TOO sweet Grin.

Back on the straight and narrow tomorrow.

Not a great weekend here either, though not as 'bad' as usual - still trying to keep some sort of control over the amount of food I eat, if not the type of food. Like you say, Suejonez, back on the straight and narrow tomorrow

I don't know why I think I've had a bad weekend - I reckon I'm eating about 1000 calories a day less at the weekend than I was a month ago!

JackieNo · 21/05/2006 22:23

Blimey, that's really impressive, suejonez! I've been determinedly not counting calories, but if the weight doesn't keep coming down, I might have to start.

suejonez · 21/05/2006 22:25

Sadly Jackie - more of a refelection of what I was eating rather than what I'm eating now. And I'm only mentally counting calories so I could be wrong (but I don't think so - one pasty/sausage roll would easily be 500cals and add a desert in - there's your 1000 cals!)

JackieNo · 21/05/2006 22:29

No - be positive about it - it's a really good achievement, and it's a step in the right directionSmile. Baby steps etc. I think I'm off to bed now - no temptation to eat when I'm asleep!

Hi all,

Just wanted to drop in! I haven't had a good weekend food-wise because we went out to two really good social functions, but each of them served fish and chips for the food!!!! I also had a couple of glasses of wine each night too. I did dance for about 2 hours on Saturday night though, so that might help a bit. However, it was really great to be out with my dh and spend some time together.

I had a session with my counsellor on Sunday and we started talking about my food issues. It's given me a lot to think about this week. I doubt I will have lost weight, but I feel much more positive about myself anyway. I know that I need to sort out my emotional reasons for overeating, so even if I haven't lost weight, I still feel I'm moving forward.

Is it ok to stay and weigh each week, even if I don't lose weight? It helps me make sure I'm not putting weight on, and It's great to have the chance to chat to others who understand.

Of course it is!! It's great that you feel positive about your counselling and that you're moving forward, and that has to be more important than what the scales say. It sounds as if it will do you no end of good, which is brilliant.

I'm so glad we don't have our weigh-in on a Monday - it would be fatal to have it after the weekend. Glad I've got a few days to get back to (what should be/become)normal

Littlefish - It sounds as though the counselling is really helping. You sound so positive in that last post. :)

I'm joining JackieNo in being thankful that today isn't weighing-in day. I've had a weird couple of days where I've had incredibly strong chocolate cravings (strong cravings not strong chocolate :o). Today they've mysteriously vanished and I'm going to make the most of it.

Hi guys - have my SW weigh in tonight and not sure how I have done, not bad most of the week but had a busy weekend - 3 glasses of wine on saturday night and buffet on sunday! Will see what happens! I DH and I have done well we will have a 'treat' tonight!

Goodmorning all! WWB - I have e-mailed you with this weeks results. I hope you all did well!

Haven't weighed yet but don't think I've lost anything. I think I'm pre-menstrual (always difficult to tell in my case!) as I've been starving all week and have been craving sugar. Even bought a bar of chocolate earlier in the week, which is very unlike me, chocolate is not really my poison.

The good news is that my mum has dug out a WW book for me so I'm going to start following that tomorrow - being an accountant, all that counting points lark suits me down to the ground!

I'll email after lunch, WWB.

I'm at work, so will email once I've picked up DD from school this pm. Think it might not be such a big drop (if any), as I think last week's result was definitely helped along by the fact that my AF was due just after I first weighed, and had just finished a couple of days before last week's weigh-in, so I would have been at my heaviest for the first weight, and prob my lightest for the second. We'll see...

I've just e-mailed you, WWB.

I think this week I'll write down what I eat. Hopefully I'll eat less of the not-so-good stuff if I know I'll have to see it written down on paper afterwards.

Report
WigWamBam · 24/05/2006 10:55

Coppertop, I always found that writing everything down helped me - I find it hard to remember exactly what I've eaten during the day otherwise. With the RC classes the instructor always looked at the sheets, and knowing that she would see exactly what I'd eaten meant I was far less likely to pig out.

Whats RC?

Sorry - Rosemary Conley. Diet club plus exercise classes.

Oh yes I did try it for a week or so but the leader of my class was really a stick thin aerobics instructor who'd never been overweight in her life and was far more interested in the exercise than the weightloss. A lot of my success has been down to the leader I think rather than the actual diet I think.

Report
WigWamBam · 24/05/2006 12:46

I did really well with my RC classes; the instructor had lost 4 stone doing the RC diet and struggled with her own weight, so at least knew what we were all going through! I find that I need exercise to maintain weight loss, so having the aerobics class as well as the weigh-in was definitely good for me.

I'd go back and do it again, but the instructor had a baby and decided to jack it all in. I checked on the website and there aren't any classes anywhere near me - looks like no-one else has taken over my ex-instructor's franchise.

Definitely agree with the exercise comment. I really need to do three longish (40 mins plus) reasonably strenuos exercise sessions a week , but I get two at aqua casses so only need to fit an extra one over the weekend. In addition I need to walk for 15-20 mins a day. Otherwise there's no hope for me!

Its all to do with insulin resistance if anyone wants me to bore them with that! My endocrinologist explained it to me.

Oh no! Just had a 'good' lunch, then people have brought in four trays of leftovers from a meeting that lots of people didn't turn up to. Managed to just have 3 bits, but it's very tempting (and very unfair!).
