Thanks folks Smile

Hmmm OK, I'll weigh in the morning and let you know....

suejonez · 18/05/2006 14:58

Hurrah NAAM, brave girl!

WWB - that sounds OK I may try it though the bit of recipe for avocado made me laugh

"For the avocado:
2 avocados, halved and stoned "

as opposed to ... apricots?

Do I have a wierd sense of humour?

WigWamBam · 18/05/2006 15:01

The book I got that from should have been entitled Cooking for Dummies, I think! Blame Phil Vickery, it's one of his!

arfy...do you still think you might be pg?

arfy · 19/05/2006 00:37

don't know Sad
think I'm just having a late period unfortunately (hasn't really arrived yet though - just a tiny, tiny spot). Something's funny though!

aintmebabe · 19/05/2006 11:43

I'm not doing that well this week - I think I may find my weight stands still. I did think I'd do a semi-fast today, just drinking fruit juice, but have already had 3 apples and a banana, so may have to delay semi-fast till Monday. The other thing is that I've got some work to get done at home, and I'm making myself sit indoors until it IS done. It's easier not to eat when I'm in the gym!

rosebea · 19/05/2006 20:14

Arfy, I know how you feel, I've got no period and my coil's decided to pop out so I'm just waiting to see if I'm pregnant......might have to have a bit of comfort choc Blush

Tell me not too!!!! I have no will power!!!!! Grin

JackieNo · 19/05/2006 20:31

Don't do it, Rosebea!Grin. I've had a disastrous evening - couldn't be bothered to cook, so DH brought home McDonaldsBlushShock. Including McFlurry. Did try to go easy on it all, in the spirit of my 'eat what you want, but don't eat all of it' plan. Have been mostly succeeding, so am going to try not to beat myself up about it, but just start again tomorrow (well, immediately, but not planning to eat anything else tonight).

rosebea · 19/05/2006 20:34

OOOooh Jackie you are naughty! I'm telling!!! That's far far worse than my tiny small little twirl (sat on kitchen side winking seductively at me Grin) I feel positively saintly now!(smug face)

(whispers) How yummy was the maccies though???? Blush Envy

JackieNo · 19/05/2006 20:40

See - that made you feel better, didn't itGrin? Yes, it was very yummy, but almost as good was the fact that it involved no cooking and minimal clearing up afterwardsWink. I love Twirls. Could you just have half of it (I know I couldn't) and save the rest for another day? Or do something else to treat yourself first - maybe have a bath, and then if you still feel like it, have some choc? Good luck, whatever you decide!

NotActuallyAMum · 20/05/2006 11:34

15s 7 yesterday morning so put on 2 pounds, which I have to say I can't really grumble about. Could have been worse

arfy · 20/05/2006 12:23

well I think I'm definitely not pregnant now Sad
so no excuse not to attempt to diet now. bah

WigWamBam · 20/05/2006 19:26

I've been picking today - it was dd's birthday party this afternoon so there were stacks of crisps, little cakes, crackers and things. I've tried not to go too mad but have been nibbling. And all the while I was imagining you lot standing behind me, looking stern and wagging your fingers at me! Didn't stop me picking but now I feel really guilty because I've been doing so well up until now.

Ah well, you have to have a treat every now and again - I know I shouldn't feel guilty but I do. Probably because I can't control myself - I didn't have to pick at the crisps, I wasn't hungry, but I sometimes get this craving just for something in my mouth and I eat and eat. There are still crisps and things in the kitchen and it's really eating at me that they're there. It's the kind of stuff that normally I don't have in the house because once it's within reach I just eat and eat and eat until it's gone.

aintmebabe · 20/05/2006 20:51

I have to be really strict about not finishing up what the kids won't eat, WWB. It's really hard, especially when you have to chuck stuff away. We now have a mountain of over-ripe bananas - I bought loads to tide me over, then found out how calorific they are (110 cals per banana) and so have been staying off them! Will the kids eat them? Will they hell!

WigWamBam · 20/05/2006 22:35

Luckily most of the stuff is meatified so dh and dd will finish it off over the next day or two ... but I think the crisps and cakes should go in the bin really because otherwise I know who'll have them Blush

Can you make some banana cake with your glut of bananas ... or would you just end up having to eat that as well??

OP posts:
JackieNo · 20/05/2006 22:38

Yes, sling them in the bin WWB (I know I'm not exactly in any position to give advice, given my appalling meal choice yesterday, but stillGrin). I had to do that with the remains of a chocolate sponge earlier this week - it kept calling to me. I did resist buying any Krispy Kreme doughnuts today Wink.

NotActuallyAMum · 20/05/2006 22:40

Definitely bin 'em WWB

If they're not there they can't tempt you Smile

suejonez · 21/05/2006 09:56

So did ya? Did ya? Did ya bin them WWB? C'mon 'fess up...

suejonez · 21/05/2006 09:59

Krisy Kreme doughnuts are spawn of the devil and should be banished from this fair land immediately, IMHO.

WigWamBam · 21/05/2006 16:01

I binned them

OP posts:
JackieNo · 21/05/2006 17:21

Yay - well done WWBGrin. I made banana muffins this afternoon, and my DH had left most of one, as he had to dash off. Just sneaked a bit, but managed to throw the rest away - it was pure greed, and I'll have to do supper soon.

aintmebabe · 21/05/2006 18:11

Noooooo...evil bananas - I ate 6 of them, intending it to be a banana-and-fruit-juice-only day, but cracked after swearing (loudly and badly - the F word) in front of ds' new, churchgoing friend and generally feeling sh*te. So I have had some protein too, and am now 60 calories over today's quota. Oh well. Weekends are hell for me, so semi-fasts at the weekend are a crap idea really.

suejonez · 21/05/2006 18:53

I just ate a Krispy Kreme donut... Blush

aintmebabe · 21/05/2006 20:16

Now they really are the work of the devil...Grin

bran · 21/05/2006 20:22

I just don't get the fuss about Krispy Kreme. When they first opened a shop at Canary Wharf I avoided them for ages because I'd heard they were really good and I thought I'd be addicted, but one day I cracked and bought one and I thought it was horrible. They're much too sweet and have a nasty texture, mind you I've never liked doughnuts much anyway.

Is everyone doing well? I've been trying to avoid this thread as I've had a chocolatey weekend, mostly because dh is away so I can. I will strengthen my resolve next week, but I won't go hardline until after I've been for an interview for a new job on Wednesday as snarling, growling and being angry with the world generally is not the best attitude at an interview. Grin
