5.2 V Low Carb For Not Quite Diet Virgin?

SpacegirlRevisited · 23/04/2013 20:07

I need to lose a couple of stone in around 6 months. I have only ever been on one diet (Cambridge) when I was 18 and now at 45 find myself hating the way I look.

Being veggie and diet naive I'm interested to know whether low carb or 5.2 seems more effective in most peoples experience? I need to research low carb so any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Low carb is really good and very effective. You will lose weight without counting calories or feeling constant hunger. I lost 50lbs this way and continue to eat low carb as it keeps my weight stable without effort (I'm 49 now). As a vegetarian it might be a bit tricky, but if you eat dairy (cheese, eggs etc) as well as tofu, you should be able to manage. The website www.dietdoctor.com/lchf has a really good introduction to the low carb way of life. Hope this helps.

Spacegirl if you're planning to try low carbing and fancy some support then there is a low carb bootcamp starting on here on Monday - there are some simple rules and lots of new people and longterm low carbers who can give advice. If you're keen pop over to the sign-up thread here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/big_slim_whatever_weight_loss_club/1739005-Summer-Low-Carb-Bootcamp-starts-29-4-come-and-sign-up?msgid=38677974 and add your name. It's also not hard to low carb if you're veggie
