princesspeahead · 23/01/2004 22:55

ummmm, salad with sliced chicken breast for lunch, two lamb chops and salad and green beans for supper. didn't have time for breakfast. and 3 cups of herbal tea and a lot of water.
going to bed now but very happy to eat the smarties tomorrow if you give me permission!

Beccarollover · 23/01/2004 22:57

i would say there is room for those smarties in todays plan - you need to have your treats to stop you feeling deprived

if you really want them tomorrow have them - but share with someone so you dont scoff them all! is that a compromise?

Demented · 23/01/2004 23:05

Becca, you're a star, my brain is so fuzzy I didn't even think of that, doh! I'm going to bed now can't face it tonight but if I don't feel any better tomorrow tesco.com it is.

PPH, have a few Smarties, go-on, go-on!

Taking tonight's chocolate binge out of things I have been allowing myself a Crunchie or a couple of Milkyways two or three times a week, last time I lost weight I gave up chocolate, crisps and fizzy juice altogether but I can't do it this time round, I am just trying to be moderate but when it comes to chocolate it isn't easy, I don't buy multi-packs because I would eat them all.

Demented · 24/01/2004 10:39

Morning! How is everyone today? I still feel rough have started the day with sugary tea, two slices of white toast and honey. I gave up sugar in my tea about three months ago as well . Going to get some low fat ice lollies today, got to shift this sore throat, it's not helping the diet!

Hulababy · 24/01/2004 10:48

Bad diet night for me yesterday - sorry Had a fab night. We went to a friend's for dinner but he didn't know we were on diets. He had made me a lovely homemade Veggie kiev and rice, with ciabatta bread. Lemon torte for pud.

Also drank lots. Was going to drive but gave in to the pressure. Had a fantastic cocktail called a Perfect Lady - lethal! And plenty of wine.

I will get back on track today though and eat only 14-16 points a day this week to make up for it.

JanHR · 24/01/2004 21:54

bad night for me. the friends that were meant to be coming round had to cancel as Ds ill. I invited someone else round as I had already got the chicken in the marinade. I had also bought duck spring rolls and they had gone in the oven to be ready for when she arrived. 15 minutes after she was due I called her only to be told that she was not coming after all. DP and I ate all the spring rolls (15 of them) between us. THen about 30 mins later had aboyut 8 pieces each of deepfrid chicken with sweet and sour sauce.

I thinky I will need to walk to and from town all this week to make sure I lose the target 2 lbs.

JanHR · 24/01/2004 21:54

Also had loads of steamed rice

Hulababy · 24/01/2004 21:58

JanHR. Some people are so unbelievably rude aren't they?

Beccarollover · 25/01/2004 11:53

JanHR that is a heinous crime agains dieting 15 spring rolls and sweet and sour chicken!!!!!!! You'll have to do some walking to get rid of the damamge lol Agree bout rude friends though

Anyone else care to confess all??

I drank quite a lot last night but had only 1 meal all day - very unhealthy way but quite effective as I ended up rather rat arsed heh

OP posts:
JanHR · 25/01/2004 12:18

Becca, I did not have all 15 spring rolls, DP had 8 of them. We each had 8 pieces of chicken though.

Demented · 25/01/2004 16:18

I woke up this morning and my stomach looked puckered and emptyish so out of interest I stepped on the scales and have lost 2lbs!!! Don't know how much of this will stay off until Thursday but I do hope it will, if it does at least there will be some benefits to illness!

Your dinner sounds lovely JanHR, yum, yum spring rolls!

Beccarollover · 25/01/2004 18:44

I cant not confess

Im having fish and chips for tea!!!

Here's something really really depressing - I have been ultra good for 3 weeks (anyone else got "Fat Girl Slim?) and not lost a pound - how can that be??????

Beccarollover · 25/01/2004 19:37

That is depressing

What kind of foods have you been eating?

Have you done lots of excercise?

Have you noticed any shape changes?

OP posts:
Demented · 25/01/2004 22:14

You've got to cook out of it lady, just having the book doesn't help!

I've still only tried one of the recipes, have you been eating mostly the stuff from the book or have you been mixing things a bit? I am not keen on the author's low calorie limit, if you are following this it may not be enough for you, sometimes you need to eat more food to lose weight (more good food fruit and veg etc).

I'm not following any diet, just making it up as I go along but I aim to drink 2 litres of water a day, eat at least five portions of fruit & veg, include about a 1/4 pint of skimmed milk into my day somehow (I don't like to drink milk so yoghurt or milk in tea or coffee) (apparently it boost metabolism), try not to drink fizzy drinks (they slow metabolism, ahem glass of diet coke at my side as I speak, for the sore throat honest), avoid things with too much cheese, deep fried etc, try to exercise three times a week and walk whenever possible rather than take the car or bus.

It seems very strange that you have not lost anything in three weeks though, you're not pregnant are you?????

I think there are a variety of diets going on here so I am sure we will be able to help you get off the starting blocks. Tell us about your diet/exercise and hopefully someone can help?

How's everyone today? Is anyone noticing any physical changes as the weight is coming off? I am pleased to say my stomach is deflating a bit and my long boots are loose, feel a bit like wellies when I walk. I feel these changes more encouraging than seeing the numbers come down on the scales (although of course that helps too).

CONFESSION OF A LISA78

Forgive me mumsnetters for I have sinned...
My only excuse is it is DS1's 15th birthday and he chose to go to the chinese buffet...
I tried, Idid, I tried so hard - I avoided the crispy seaweed and I chose fruit salad for my dessert, but the flesh (lots thereof) is weak and I indulged my less noble desires, in spare ribs, spring rolls and sweet and sour chicken

My penance is....?

(At least I am honest...!!! )

Ailsa · 26/01/2004 21:05

After 3 nights of 4 or 5 hours sleep (dd2 has a cough and cold) I gave into temptation and had a cadbury's creme egg and a dipped flake.

Sorry.

Lisa78 · 26/01/2004 21:13

No apology required Ailsa - creme egg, well they say eggs are good for you, full of protein and all that

Demented · 27/01/2004 00:20

I don't think a creme egg is too bad. Dipped Flake, I've never tried (can hardly believe it a chocolate bar that I haven't tried!), so did you dip the Flake into the creme egg like a soldier, then????? Come on tell us and make us all drool.

I don't blame you Ailsa for me lack of sleep is a real danger zone where junk food is concerned, I usually think "if I'm not sleeping then I'm eating" and have no energy or desire to prepare something healthy and will reach for the chocolate. One of the main reasons I put on so much weight after giving birth more than before.

There's no excuse for you though Lisa, slap wrists!!! Only kidding you're doing something I have never been able to do and that is tackling your weight whilst your DS2 (have I got that right?) is still a baby and you're still b/feeding. I don't know how you b/feed without chocolate, wine and crisps in plentiful supply, oh and cheese.

Demented · 27/01/2004 00:21

Hope you had a nice time at the chinese buffet BTW, sounds yummy could do with some of that!

Beccarollover · 27/01/2004 10:17

Hands up who is struggling this week?

OP posts:
150percent · 27/01/2004 12:28

Both hands up. Had a slack day on saturday (still went to gym but had huge meal in the evening). Apparently put on 2 pounds overnight, so am currently still half a pound heavier than last week despite being at the gym every day except Sunday and eating fairly healthily. I assume some of it is fluid loss/retention as I know that I didn't managed 7,000 extra caloris on Saturday (1,000 yes...).

I think I probably have to start writing down what I'm eating as I suspect that the odd extra thing is making its way into my mouth without me registering (had jaffa cake yesterday afternoon with boys, and then swiped ds1's sausage at teatime...).
