I know when it started, I know I am stressed, but why can I not exercise discipline over food?

Have you tried time tabled eating? I eat at 10am, 2pm, 6pm and 9pm. If I'm hungry between them I drink a pint of water.
I used to be terrible for just eating and eating and eating until I learned this x

Have you tried cutting out the refined carbs and upping your protein intake? That's quite appetite suppressing- am doing that myself at the moment I have to say it took a lot of willpower to get through the first week but much easier now.

I think what you need is some motivation. No diet in the world is going to wirk until you really want it to. Try watching the biggest loser on you tube. And there is a really good motivational video about a disabled man doing yoga (sorry can't do links on my phone) For me realising that others have been in a worse position than I am but have turned their lives around really helps push me on.

I was EXACTLY the same.

I've lost just over a stone since 1st January on the Low carb bootcamp. Once I stopped eating processed carbs all the cravings went away. And I can still have cheese!!

My Doc recommended low carb (not Atkins, I can have veg etc) because I have PCOS. I plan to eat like this from here on - losing about 1 lb a week eating delicious food and not hungry.

Best of luck!

I think the disabled man doing yoga is called Arthur Bohrmann? It is amazing.

I'm doing weigth watchers and I find it pushesd me into much more structured eating similar to what PrammyMammy said except I eat at 7.30, 11, 1, 4.30, 7, 9. Sounds mad but the small healthy snacks HELP me control my appetite and the choices I make. It also pushes down bread intake which my dh is convinced has made a huge difference because I am a white buttery toast FIEND if I get going!

It is not a diet though, it is my way of eating now. That's the big head change you have to embrace imo.
