Just realised my jeans don't zip up. We're visiting family at Easter and would like to at least be able to fit into my usual jeans. I am doing the shred every day (starting level 2 today). What else can I do?

Could you propoint for 2 weeks too? I use value diary on my iPhone apps which works the same as weight watchers for a lot less!!

EarlyInTheMorning · 20/03/2013 08:30

What is propoint peachy?

Low carb, loads of water then yes

PeachyPossum · 20/03/2013 12:54

Weight watchers use propoints and all foods have a value. So I get 26 a day (worked out using app, your height and weight etc) so count the points in foods and stick below that. So far today I have had;

Banana 0 points
Grapes 0 points
Mallow 1 point
Ham salad 1 point
Cheesie crisps 2 points.

I have a whole meal pita and mushroom pâté for this afternoon with some salad left over from lunch;

Pita 3 points
Mushroom pâté 1 point.

Tonight I will have about 8 points for dinner and top up with milk.

The value diary app has a search function and calculators to help work out point values etc. sound complicated but I quite enjoy it Blush. You can calculate exercise etc too.

Of course it is much simpler to eat less, having read back over my post lol

Spam's suggestion of low carb and lots of water sounds less complicated! Grin

Aye, that it does lol. I do like the points system though, or at the very least counting calories, it just feels more like I'm doing something! I'm losing about 2 pounds a week, but that includes two three course meals last week and I drank too much wine too. I'm not sure you can have wine on low carb. Shock

pompompom · 20/03/2013 13:32

Spanx are your friend. Low carb, lots of water, shred if you can be arsed. Spanx will get you the rest of the way though.

So when you say lots of water, how much should I be aiming for exactly? I am short by the way, if that makes any difference.

I did low carb lots of water and did the 30 day shred by jillian michaels for 11 days and lost a stone. Some was water weight I'm sure but I felt better than ever, am trying to get back into it now as I have had four days off Blush

BambieO · 20/03/2013 13:40

I had about 8 glasses a day so not too much just enough to keep me hydrated and feeling good

EarlyInTheMorning · 20/03/2013 13:52

A stone???? That's all I need to lose but I fail miserably as my sugar cravings always get the better of me Sad

Yeah, I'm not massively overweight either just enough to feel uncomfortable in myself., I could do with losing another stone to be at my pre DS goal haha

To beat my sugar cravings I would have strawberries blueberries and natural yoghurt. It really worked and after three days or so I didn't even need that anymore as I didn't crave the sugar

BambieO · 20/03/2013 14:00

I did do the exercise religiously as well and never cheated during that period, no chocolate/crisps/soda etc

ffswhatnow · 20/03/2013 14:26

Shock a stone in 11 days? Did I read that right?

BambieO · 20/03/2013 14:53

You did haha but my diet before was SHOCKING. Too much wine/takeaway/chocolate/no exercise at all so was prob mostly water although my arms felt more toned and my midriff after doing 'the shred'

Need to get back on track starting this morning!
