So here it is - come and weigh in for the last time and tell us how much you've lost in Bootcamp.

The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here

Yes ScillyCow - starts on 29 April, running for 10 weeks again

mumat39 · 27/03/2013 21:55

Wow! So many good losses.

Just signing in to say a massive Thank You to BIWI, Willie and everyone else who has been on this bootcamp.

I've not weighed myself for a few weeks as I've been invaded by the inner gobbler and have fallen off the wagon. But I am trying to get back onto this woe, slowly but surely. I'm really stressed out at the moment, not sure why, but that seems to be my biggest problem.

I was getting down at the fact that I was losing weight slowly, but having been off this woe, I've realised thankfully that I also gain weight slowly, so hopefully when I get back to it, the slow weightless won't be such an issue. I know it's the best way to lose weight.

I think I'm about 8 lbs down from when I started. Since falling off, alot of my digestive issues have come back so I know that this woe is definitely good for me.

Before the next bootcamp, I'm aiming to lose another 7lbs, so fingers crossed.

Thanks again to everyone, and congrats to everyone who has stayed the course and had losses along the way!

Xxx

Definitely BIWI! Thanks so much! Thanks

MaryBeardfanclub · 27/03/2013 22:15

mmm tea your tea sounds lush

I just had a lovely supper of brunswick ham with hm coleslaw and feta drizzled with olive oil. About to embark on raspberries with gk yog and cream. I need a treat after the day I've had - coil fitting which required 2 doctors and a nurse to get sorted, yuk, worse than giving birth and after the whole painful palarva they want me to go for a scan to see if it's in right.
then on the sleep training front the damn next doors dog was let out for a wee and started barking - right outside the dcs bedroom and woke ds2 up - and this is day 4 so only 1 more night before ds1 returns
I marched next door and said please stop the dog barking - the neighbour was not apologetic, just said well he's in now. Angry

I am reading this book. The book's author was a vegan for 26 years and consequently became obese, with high cholesterol and IBS. He was cured overnight by eating meat! It's a good read, very funny albeit blokey.

Bessie123 · 27/03/2013 22:20

I ate a packet of Thorntons chocolates and a packet of mini cream eggs for dinner. It was all going so well - no breakfast, smoked haddock with poached egg and homemade hollandaise and a very little bit of romanescu caulifor lunch then i started feeling poorly and ate loads of chocolate. Oh dear, I think I need to go back to bootcamp.

flatbluebunny · 27/03/2013 22:21

Hi all, I started Bootcamp last Thursday after weighing in at my heaviest on the night before at 13 st 4.5 lbs, despite dieting for the last 20 years or so. I love carbs, which is obviously my downfall and I deperately want to lose at least a stone in time for my holiday to Rhodes in August. Anyway I've stuck to it all week, have been terrified every single day (lol) but am ecstatic to say I've lost 3.5 lbs in my first week Smile It really does work doesn't it?

MaryBeardfanclub · 27/03/2013 22:51

well done flatblue, yes it works! and welcome.

bessie Can you identify the point at which you reached for chocolate instead of LC ingredients? Could be you skipped breakfast so you were too hungry to make the right choice this time? I do not skip meals ever cos this has happened to me. Also, the only choc in the house is G&B 85%.

re salt - I gave ds2 (aged 19 months) smoked mackerel for tea, someone mentioned earlier about salty food being unsuitable for toddlers - here is the redoubtable Ms Harcombe on salt.

MrsHeggulePoirot · 27/03/2013 22:51

auntiemaggie I'm sort of half glad you were sick in the night and it is perhaps a bug and not this WoE or something else. Hopefully you'll be right as rain soon!

Well done MrsRinky - amazing in a year, well done you!

EMUZ · 27/03/2013 22:55

Crap food today. Well not crap but I know I'm not eating enough but I'm not hungry Hmm
I'm doing a leptin reset thing (technical!) and had 4 eggs (with butter) and steak for breakfast
No lunch
Veg soup for tea and handful cashews

Bessie123 · 27/03/2013 23:07

marybeardfanclub I was feeling sick, couldn't stomach anything low carb, and just wanted chocolate. But I find that it is easy to eat low carb during the day. I often get choc cravings in the evening. Which is odd because I'm not that fussed on choc usually, I prefer fruity sweet things.

timidviper · 28/03/2013 00:12

Black Well done 26lb is amazing! You'll overtake me soon at this rate. I am away this weekend Fri-Mon, back for a few days then away again Fri-Mon the following weekend. Staying in hotels both times and eating out a lot so not holding out much hope.

My recipe for pork fillet is to slit it down the middle, stuff with Boursin or Philly with garlic and herbs then wrap in parma ham or streaky bacon and roast.

Lavenderhoney · 28/03/2013 03:03

Lots going on at home so it's very hard for me to keep up - I might just have to lurk when I can:)

Weighed myself yesterday and I am down a couple of pounds again. Did have a night out though and drank a couple of glasses of wine. Still, it was a lovely evening.

Well done all the losers or stickers at it:)

AuntieMaggie · 28/03/2013 08:23

Thanks mrs... I think :o

I had plenty of water, 2 cups of tea, a packet of aldi german sausage for lunch and a chicken, steak and gammon combo thing at the pub for tea (gave the chips to dp). So lots of bland meat but not any veg. Oh and mayo on the meat (but gammon was still too salty).

I need some ideas for bland-ish food though I bought two tubs of the protein shakes that Black uses as backup when I can't face food.

My list is getting shorter: no eggs, only bland meat, cream but not to cook with...

Bessie123 · 28/03/2013 09:05

Lost another lb this morning Shock

Ormiriathomimus · 28/03/2013 10:54

Hi all

I was scared to weight myself at the start ( I think I was right looking at my weight now Grin I weighed myself 5 weeks in and I was 178lbs (yikes!). Yesterday I was down to 173 so it's going in the right direction.

I'm not being strict really - just no wheat, rice, root veg or fruit (apart from berries at breakfast) and no added sugar. It's fine by and large but I get cravings for pasta of all daft things.

I am aiming for approx 158lbs. That is about right for me and acheivable I think

heirtotheironthrone · 28/03/2013 10:59

The sun is actually out down here! Which has made me much more positive. Fab dinner last night of sausages with creamy swede mash and broccoli, and then a few raspberries with cream. Greek yog for breakfast and have salad and pate for lunch. This weekend am cooking for veggie friends and have found a gorgeous-looking recipe for an aubergine and olive bake with tinned toms and feta - will post recipe next week if it turns out nice!

Other than that need to work hard not to worry-eat - DP is off on his stag do this evening and I am fretting... Going to stay with my mum for a couple of days who is under instruction to keep me on the straight and narrow!

WillieWEggledEgger · 28/03/2013 12:09

someone started a thread today about veggie bootcamp rules - I had forgotten that flipflopflap had posted these for the first bootcamp from last year, and have added them to the spreadsheet. (in the tab 'Veggie Bootcamp Rules')

however, i know that BIWI has refined the regular bootcamp rules since that first thread, so I don't know whether any of the current veggie low carbers would mind taking a look and seeing whether there are any refinements you would make, or details you would add?

BlackAffronted · 28/03/2013 13:06

Bessie, dont skip breakfast, I find my BAB really keeps me going & stops my snacking.

BlackAffronted · 28/03/2013 13:17

Emuz, I am doing the leptin reset too :)

Thanks Timid, seems the weight wants to come off now! So glad I didnt cave in :)

MrsHeggulePoirot · 28/03/2013 13:27

Maggie - glad you are eating something. Do you not fancy any salad/veg, or just haven't had any? Would some plainish veg help you at all?

heir - it is a good idea to have plans with other halves away. When DH is away with work, I try to make sure I am uber-organised otherwise I just stray too much!

Bessie I was going to say the same as Black, I would eat something for breakfast and then you probably won't crave the chocolate later...

alem · 28/03/2013 13:48

Hi All.
I'm popping on to say Hi!
I started this WOE last weekend, and have lost 3lb so far, so very pleased. Have read the last couple of threads and have shamelessly copied some fab ideas. Hope to join in the next boot camp! Smile

AuntieMaggie · 28/03/2013 14:50

Steak and eggs for lunch with a grilled tomato. :)

I don't fancy veg/salad mrs though am thinking of making an aubergine and onion cheese bake for dinner... not sure what with though...

spilttheteaagain · 28/03/2013 20:29

I have a sinus infection and feel crappy Sad

So comfort food is the order of the day. I keep making myself big veggie bakes for lunch. Yesterday did a creamy green veg one (inspired by the other thread!), lots of leek, sprouts, cabbage and spinach sauted in butter and garlic & s&P, then a generous slosh of cream, top with grated cheese and whizzed up seeds for crunch and grill.
Today's featured a load of celery and leeks and carrots in butter and garlic, thyme and rosemary, half a chicken oxo and a splash of water, reduce it down, add a little splash of cream, top with cheese and seeds again and grill. The celery was divine. Who knew celery gratin was so good??

Comfort in a bowl. A bit of a deconstructed soup I suppose!

AuntieMaggie would a cauliflower cheese be at all appealing for bland comfortyness? It's very nice with some fried leeks and bacon in too.

heirtotheironthrone · 28/03/2013 21:25

Oh arse - turned up at mum's this evening and she had made me supper of beans on toast - couldn't be much worse could it? It was delicious, but have the worst bloated painful stomach now...
