Hi All

Wanted to see if anyone is doing one of these or thinking about it. (If there's already an active thread, I missed it).

I have done LL before, lost three stone in 10 weeks and maintained wonderfully until DC's. Eldest is now four and a half and I think I have probably tried everything going, you name it, I've tried it (Paul McKenna, Paleo, 5:2, Dukan, Weight Watchers, etc).

I know that this works for me, although I understand other peoples objections.
I get paid on Friday and will be contacting a CDC to start on Monday. By the time DS1 is five in June, I intend to be pre DC weight again! Grin

Anyone up for it? Or can give me some support or advice? TIA.

Sorry wowser, just me thinking out loud. I definitely do a day at a time (with the occasional wistful thought of further on) but it is all that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step stuff.

Wowserz129 · 08/05/2013 11:06

Not sure what you are saying sorry for Scone but no need. We all do things in different ways and we are all aiming for the same thing lol! I have three stone to lose but my holiday is the first week of July so I will have to hope I don't gain to much on holiday!

thinkfast · 08/05/2013 12:02

I'm doing lighter life so think my packs are different. It was their plain porridge which I am going to swap for shakes instead. Feeling very foggy and headachy and like I'm wading through mud. I am taking it one day at a time and can stick with it today at least Wink

Am going away in mid June and a stone less would be great by then. (More would be better as I have 6 to lose!)

Wowserz129 · 08/05/2013 15:05

I think you will do more than a stone think fast! I am hoping for a 5lb loss this week given its my first week!

Wowserz129 · 08/05/2013 15:21

Ahhh I am having a weak moment! My sister came in as said wouldn't you rather just eat a banana and a flatbread (600 cals) or six slices of toast a day than sit and eat nothing and drink shakes you don't even want Shock

SconeInSixtySeconds · 08/05/2013 15:27

But the packs are arranged to give the correct rda of vitamins and minerals. And bananas are horrendously carby!

Come on! Does your sister want you to lose weight? It doesn't sound very supportive Sad

Wowserz129 · 08/05/2013 15:34

My family think doing the shake diet is stupid because they see it like it takes more willpower to eat healthy than to eat nothing if that makes sense!

SconeInSixtySeconds · 08/05/2013 15:40

Well yes, it is much harder to eat normally. Which is why I weighed very nearly seventeen stone because I use food as a crutch.

But, and it's a huge but, my healthy relationship with food can begin when I reach a healthy weight. It doesn't have to start because anyone else wants it to.

I am looking at this like giving up smoking. The packs are my Nicorette equivalent. They will help me to reach a healthy place. And then I will deal with becoming normal ie, a non-smoker/non binge eater and not need the packs/Nicorette any more, because I can deal with it in small parts.

thepatioislumpy · 08/05/2013 16:25

What scone said. I hope that by the time I'm done I'll have begun a little reprogramming - I'm doing this at a horrendously stressful time, my appetite should be smaller etc, but I'll have a figure that I want to maintain rather than trying to deal with those issues and climb the mountain which is losing 4 stone at the same time.

I thought my family would be like yours but they are actually wonderful Smile

thinkfast · 08/05/2013 17:35

What scone said!

Wowserz if I can do it so can you! Had to leave work early cause feeling so ill. Having a lie done before ds (20months) gets home. I feel strangely not hungry (perhaps because the packs are unappetising) just like I'm ill

However I have my fingers crossed for a 7lb weight loss on Monday and

thinkfast · 08/05/2013 17:36

...(pressed send too soon) and really want to lose a stone before my holiday or none of my summer clothes will fit!

sammac · 08/05/2013 21:45

Thinkfast, I make the porridge n a wee plastic cup so it's not runny. i'm not a porridge fan but am taking it every morning. I bought a pack of about 100 cups and use them for my shakes into yogurty puddings and porridge.

I felt really bad into day 3 but was expecting something. Luckily I was on holiday and spent the day in bed and was fine the next day and no further incidents. Make sure you're drinking plenty.

Try and space our packs out and drink other things between. Some nights I make a stock cube into a hot drink. You can buy a boullion type thing for about a tenner but I'm sing goodold Asda/Aldi ones. Not strictly allowed but it helps me.

bbpants · 09/05/2013 09:10

To all of you that have told your family about the diet - well done. I'm too scared to do that because I know they will not understand, and I don't feel in a position to defend myself (without turning to a packet of jelly beans and a bottle of wine for comfort afterwards). My DH knows, and is being (broadly) supportive. He's just started the 5:2 diet, so we can now have conversations about very low calorie days Smile

Scone - you are an incredibly insightful person. I like the Nicorette analogy. I'm going to steal that!

BoiledEggonLegs · 09/05/2013 15:12

I forgot I'd posted here. I've fell off the wagon once and restarted again since posting so here I am FOR THE LAST TIME!

I do not want to be fat barrel anymore!

I've been to the hairdressers this morning and sitting faced with my own reflection - urghh. I thought the gown had all bunched up around my sides between the chair, nope it was my fat spilling all over.

Good tips about the bars in the freezer and fridge and having one when putting tea out.

Onwards and downwards.

Will read thread now.

thinkfast · 09/05/2013 18:13

Had a much better day than yesterday but very tempted to give up and do a normal diet eg low gi. I'm soooooo hungry. Dreaming of proper food!!!!!!
Hand holding needed please!!

thinkfast · 09/05/2013 18:25

Dreaming of food and will power evaporating

thinkfast · 09/05/2013 18:48

Boiled egg welcome but you maybe rolling in just as I roll out Hmm

Melissakitkat · 09/05/2013 18:55

Stop! Thinkfast don't do it!!!! Drink some water, read a book do some knitting!

SconeInSixtySeconds · 09/05/2013 18:56

Come on Thinkfast - you are so nearly at ketosis, you can do it. Have a nice cup of tea. I think it was on the third day that someone up thread was thinking how tasty their dog looked!

If you can, get an early night or have a long bath, something that will take your mind off it. Another 24 hours and you will be feeling great.

thinkfast · 09/05/2013 19:00

Thanks scone! Haven't eaten meat since the age of 8 but there is some spag Bol in the fridge calling my name!!!! Also thinking about the weekend - without lunches and coffees out how will I enjoy myself?

sammac · 09/05/2013 19:41

Thinkfast , stop and think about how much happier you will feel about yourself. After day 3 the hunger goes. You are so close and we're all with you xx

thinkfast · 09/05/2013 19:46

Thanks sammac! As soon as ds is in bed will have my last food pack of the day then try to sleep. Wish I was naturally slim

SconeInSixtySeconds · 09/05/2013 19:55

Don't we all?! I always thought it was ironic in Harry Potter that with magic to keep them thin there still quite a few porkies!

Are you not allowed coffee on LL? You can have it on Slim and Save which is nice, but truly you don't get as hungry once the ketosis kicks in.

bbpants · 09/05/2013 19:55

Stick with it Thinkfast - you can do it. I know EXACTLY how you are feeling, but when you get that first big loss, it'll be worth it.

thinkfast · 09/05/2013 20:05

I can have black coffee on LL but its not the same. Feeling much better now thanks. Just wish ds would sleep do that I can eat and go to bed!
