I used MFP for a short time quite a while back, perhaps 2/3 years ago.

I know a lot of people here rave about it but I struggled with it, finding it quite clunky to use and it was often impossible to find British foods because it's so American. I gave up on it because it seemed to take me ages to track everything. How is it nowadays and can you give me any tips to use it better?
There is an alternative UK based site that I found easier to use but there's a monthly charge that works out quite expensive, IMO. And they don't have an app either.I'd rather use MFP for free if I can get to grips with it.

Also, what do you do if you eat out? I know the calorie counts are there for fast food and chain restaurants but how do you calculate your cals if you eat at your local pub or an upmarket restaurant?

on my iphone i can scan the barcodes in so makes it a lot easier to find things

eating out - generally i guess what they may be by searching for it in the database and using the highest calorie count
