Well I was faffing with a BMI calculator at work on Friday and discovered that my BMI is now 30.4. Enough is enough. I have bought shakes and weightwatchers ready meals. I am having 3 pieces of fruit as snacks and a flass of wine in the evening from today.

I have tried low carb and 5:2 bit I feel I need firmer rules or I cheat. So, 2 shakes, 3 pieces of fruit for snacks, 1 ready meal and one glass of wine. Lots of water and rwa and coffee with 1% milk and sweeteners.

My sister's wedding is at the start of April and I would love to look reasonable for that then look good and feel healthier for our holiday in August.

You don't have to post or anything, I just needed to write it down.

Is 1350 calories a day too much I wonder?

1350 isn't too much, no. You'll lose weight on that. Weight watchers meals are vile though. If you can make a simple fresh meal you'll probably stick with it longer.

Actually I thought they're ok so far. Ready meals are easier for me as I have to feed the kids as well. Also it's all packaged and I can't cheat with ingredients Blush

I do wish you well but that's a hell of a lot of chemically shit you're putting into your body. That's not a healthy approach to weight loss at all. What happens when you start eating again? I bet you'd lose more than you think just by cutting out the wine. The fruit will send your blood sugar spiking so craving more. The sweetner, readymeal and shakes are full of who knows what horse. Have you really given low carb a try? You could eat some really great, delicious, REAL food and lose stacks of weight. You'd have to ditch the wine though.

DH and I did low carb together last year. We were so strict and both stuck firmly to it. After 8 weeks he had lost 21lbs. I had lost 3 :(

I know its not the healthiest way of doing things but I need to kickstart myself. I plan to change to a proper lunch of around the same calories after a couple of weeks, then breakfast then supper. I need to make things as simple as possible in the short term. DH has a new job and is working away from home during the week which is a new thing for us.

I agree WW meals are really really nasty. I am using M&S Fuller Longer and Count on Us meals. Bit more expensive but they taste good so I am less likely to fall off the wagon :)

Will look into them thanks
