What is working for you?
Any tips greatly appreciated!
Mine-

Porridge for breakfast
Swimming (3 weeks and I swear I can see the difference!)
I have cut caffeine aswell and substituted fruit tea and this has made a difference to the amount of snacking I do, especially in the evening, biscuits dunked in cranberry & orange isn't the same!

I don't ever snack, and only drink water

HobKnob · 17/02/2013 20:43

Drink lots. Have a drink if you think you're hungry- more often than not it does the trick, because actually you're thirsty.

FrazzleRock · 17/02/2013 20:44

Eat veeeeerrrrry slowly.

(I need to listen to my own advice)

BillyBollyDandy · 17/02/2013 20:46

My Fitness Pal

Allows you to log all you calories and tells you how many you can have to lose weight

BreadForMyBREADGUN · 17/02/2013 20:52

Yy, mfp. It really shows you which meals are low in cals. Don't set your limit too low though.

BreadForMyBREADGUN · 17/02/2013 20:53

Oh, always eat above your BMR.

directoroflegacy · 17/02/2013 20:56

omg I am a novice at this - BMR?

Basal Metabolic Rate I think

The minimum your body needs to keep ticking over without any exercise.

Join Myfitnesspal. It's like Facebook for fat people, and I've found it a great help. You can access via Internet, or download the ap.

directoroflegacy · 17/02/2013 23:06

Been on & now registered MFP!!
I think this may be a new addiction!

Alligatorpie · 18/02/2013 11:56

I just registered too. I am counting carbs, so my protein and fats are already over what they suggest and i have hours to go before dinner.

Alligatorpie · 18/02/2013 11:57

I agree with having a drink when you think you are hungry, water, herbal tea or diet drinks work for me.

PhyllisDoris · 18/02/2013 12:36

If you want to be mfp friends, my username is suedlotofem.

Blackden · 18/02/2013 13:21

Alligator I was on MFP a while ago and you can change their amounts for carbs, protein and fats. If you go on the 'Custom' setting you fix your own percentages amounts eg fat 40% protein 40% carbs 20% or whatever your target is.

A nutritious breakfast is very important. It makes no sense to try to lose weight in unhealthy way, it will damage your health and moreover, the weight will likely come back again. I never count calories,as I think it's hard thing to do precisely, I just gave up eating fast and fatty food and eat a lot of fruit, vegetables and drink juices (the products that help to burn calories - grapefruits, aloe vera drink or juice , green tea, spinach) And of course I drink water, about 6 glasses a day. But I guess giving up eating fast food is what helps me to lose weight the most. Exercising is also very important, you should do it every day or every other day for a least 10 minutes. These things are well-known but they are he most effective as well.
