Does anyone know roughly how many calories there would be in an afternoon tea consisting of sandwiches/pastries/cakes?

That is a totally long as a piece of string question and obviously it depends how much you eat but if you had half a round of sandwiches, a cake, maybe another cake and some tea I'd guess at 750.

It depends on what you ate!

Have you eaten it or planning to?

MissWooWoo · 07/02/2013 19:01

planning! I suppose what I mean is if my husband and I order tea for two at a posh hotel and I eat half half of what's there, how many calories is that likely to be? I know it depends on the exact tea but I was looking for a rough figure - 600ish, 1000ish, 2000ish? 350ish in my dreams

I will be sodding the calories as it is a treat but was just curious! Amazing to think that a "meal" that looks small and dainty could roll in at 1000 calories!!!

I can see a Patisserie Valerie afternoon tea delivery. Fruit and plain scones, cakes, no savouries, comes in at about 1600 calories. Add a sausage roll, and I think you'd hit 2000 easily.
