Can't link to this from old thread but thought I'd start a new one as the old one was getting full and kept crashing my kindle.

Better than gaining Lizzy.

RandallPinkFloyd · 21/02/2013 18:38

Well done tea!

lizzy I reckon with all the exercising you're fling you must be toning up like mad, you must have buns of steel! Plus if I remember rightly I don't think you've got much to lose have you? It's a lot harder and slower when you're only looking to drop smallish amounts. Chin up chief, you're doing fantastic.

juneybean · 21/02/2013 18:45

Great loss Tea !

WiseKneeHair · 21/02/2013 19:21

Have lovely pink toenails Grin
Having a night off tonight, although I have promised DH an early night Wink so I might get some exercise.
I've been reading the eat more to weigh less threads and am very tempted to up my calories to TDEE minus 20%. This would give me a daily limit of about 1750, with no exercise calories on top of that. I like the idea of being able to eat more of course and think it will be more sustainable in the long term, but I am worried about the weight loss slowing right down.
Decisions, decisions.
Any thoughts, Chiefs?

juneybean · 21/02/2013 19:30

I've just done that for this week Wise but some days I'm still not hitting my limit Confused sometimes I'm just not hungry!

It will probably slow down but at the same time, you won't put it all back on again should you well and truly fall off the wagon. It's definitely something long term, that what I was doing cutting down to 1500 which seems to only be a quick fix.

dinkydoos · 21/02/2013 19:31

Hi all.

Just about to eat as fast day for me.
Well done on loss tea, awesome.
Lizzy, you must be jillianesque after all that exercise!

Wise, hmm. Eat more, weigh less. Tbh I think there's definitely something in that, didn't bssh do that to lose most of her weight?
I do think that just always having v low calories won't do anything for us long term.
Will be interested in how you get on, you can be the chiefs guinea pig!!

WiseKneeHair · 21/02/2013 19:56

Thanks juney and dinky not sure I want to be the Chiefs guinea pig, they're what I'm hoping to lose. Grin
I'm really undecided about it, tbh. I am sure I will do it, just maybe not yet. I don't feel brave enough.
Juney I don't want to eat more crap well, sometimes, I do but I would like to add in more healthy protein rich food, like nuts and seeds which will give high, but "good" calories.
dinky enjoy your meal. Now, I am convinced that 5:2 is definitely not for me.

Lizzylou · 21/02/2013 21:01

I do think that there is something in that eat more to lose more. The old Slimming world plan was like that, the best I have ever eaten and lost weight. I ate loads!
Oh and I most certainly do NOT have buns of steel, I assure you!
My arms are toning up, bum is better and can see some definition in my stomach (underneath the flab) but need to lose fat. Simple as.
Couldn't go for a run as DH was late back so ended up doing Level 4 of Ripped in 30. It is just NOT the "Mother of all workouts" as Jillian says, Level 2 is way harder. Perhaps that is just me being contrary??

I am 5ft 9" and built big, big feet, wide hips, I know not to bother about the scales too much, I always look bigger than my willowy mates. But I would like to look the best I can iyswim.
Which I only ever have when I was a student and didn't really eat, smoked 20 marlboro lights a day and drank til I vommed. Not going to fit into todays lifestyle, though I rocked my Levis and bum skimming skirts in those days.

GeekLove · 21/02/2013 21:13

You are right about lvl2 RI30. It is the hardest in my opinion. Same goes for lvl2 shred as well.
Still even with the cold weather kick starting my fondness for snickers I am 2lb down on Sunday! Easy come easy go.

Lizzylou · 21/02/2013 21:25

Hate to say I told you so Geek!

And Yes, Level 2 of the shred is also the hardest, weird.

BsshBossh · 21/02/2013 21:57

Wise all the weight I've lost has been with the support of the Eat More To Weigh Less forums - right from the beginning of last year I started dieting at 10-20% cut of my TDEE averaging 1800 cals a day. But I'd never undereaten before that so my metabolism was quite high. If you think you have been "under-eating" then you might need to give your body and metabolism a chance to adjust to higher-calorie eating. I would increase cals slowly - say 100 cals more for three weeks them another 100 cals until you reach your 20% cut.

Just my two cents worth.

BsshBossh · 22/02/2013 07:41

2 lbs lost this week. Very happy. So the not-counting-calories (plus fasting) is obviously working and I'll keep at it. 54 lbs down, 9 lbs left to lose.

DoubleMum · 22/02/2013 09:02

Double yay Bssh!!

I'm having a down moment about the amount I have to lose and how slow it's coming off. At this rate it will take me more than 2 years.
Obviously it took a lot more than 2 years to go on, so I need a kicking.

Lizzylou · 22/02/2013 09:57

Bssh, that is bloody amazing! Well done you!

Double, don't be disheartened, soon your body will get in the groove and get used to losing weight. It will speed up. You will keep getting smaller and smaller and looking better and better.

DoubleMum · 22/02/2013 10:08

Thanks Lizzy. I know I have just keep plugging away.

TheTigerDidntComeToTea · 22/02/2013 11:07

Morning Chiefs!

Great losses everyone!

Double - good news about your trousers! But don't get disheartened about how much and how long. I'm in the same boat. I'm trying to look at it in smaller bits, say 1 stone at a time or 10lb? I don't even want to think about how much I have to lose in total but if I can lose another 1.5 st I'm going to try running again. So that's my target at the moment!

Bssh - great to see that you can do it without logging & well done on the running. I'm looking forward to running again, don't want to damamge my knees though so waiting a wee bit longer!

Randall - well done 1.6lb is great

Tea - did you enjoy your pie last night??

Wise - I've been having the same discussion with myself about eating more calories, did you come to a decision? I did 2 fast days this week which went fine but I'm still counting on the days in between. Although that allows me to have a blowout curry and glass of wine on Saturday night. Hopefully it all balances out. I'm too scared that if I eat more the weight won't drop...

Well, I did 2 fast days this week, one on a working day which was fine. The other was on one of my days with the kids, the amount of food my dd leaves lying about is unreal, so the fast included 3 grapes, 4 pom bears etc etc... Seems to have worked though, 2.75lb off this week, although its been coming off so slowly (or not at all) I'm playing catch up a bit! 7lb in total, slowly but surely.

Right back to work, well done if anyone has read all this, I don't post everyday so I had loads to catch up on...

juneybean · 22/02/2013 12:50

You're doing amazing Bssh !

Double Like you've I've had a lot to lose, but the slower it comes off, the more it will stay off. My mums lost 2stone since christmas on Cambridge and I can't help worry she's going to put it back on again when she starts eating properly again. And don't forget our reason for these threads, we're changing our lifestyle not looking for a quick fix (although I haven't quite caught onto that as I still neck coke and chocolate Blush )

DoubleMum · 22/02/2013 13:01

Must admit Juney, watching that video about Sugar: the Bitter Truth has put me right of fizzy stuff and I'm not having it around the house. The children (and possibly me) can have it if we go out. Particularly disliked the bit about the aspartame and caffeine in diet coke reacting together and destroying brain cells.
Also, we had quite a bit of fizzy stuff when we were children - a company called Mister Bacon used to come to the house and deliver and collect empties, and my sister and I had at least 2 big bottles a week between us. Seems odd now, as otherwise my parents gave us a pretty healthy diet at home, but I guess not so much was known about dietary stuff then.
It's a bad time at the moment, I've been very hungry the last couple of days and nothing is filling me up. I've just had a bagel for lunch with 3 light cheese triangles and some beetroot, but at the moment I'm still hungry which is no doubt physically impossible. Possibly it might be TOTM, don't know as I'm on Cerazette and don't have periods.

BsshBossh · 22/02/2013 13:04

Tiger great loss, well done :)

Double I know very well how easy it is to get disheartened by slow or no movement on the scales. I went through weeks of no losses last year and months of a couple of pounds only but it steadily came off over the 12 months. Look at this as a longterm endeavour - slower loss is better anyway as it gives your body and mind time to adjust which seems to make it second nature, in the longterm, to keep it off.

juneybean · 22/02/2013 13:09

I actually gave up caffeine last summer but have slowly started drinking it again :( but it was pepsi max I used to drink but now I try to avoid diet drinks but going without any would be the better option!

Lizzylou · 22/02/2013 14:39

Yay Tiger, well done!

Have just ordered Extreme Shed and shred! Will it kill me??

WiseKneeHair · 22/02/2013 15:22

Well, I've done it. I've upped my calories from 1300 to 1550. I'll give it a go for a few weeks and if I still lose weight, I'll up again to 1800, which I reckon is my TDEE-20%. I'm still logging exercise calories, because I like to see how much I've burned, but will not be eating back those calories, as they are included in my TDEE.
very slightly nervous but it feels like the right thing to do. Yes, I want to lose quickly, but even more than that, I want it to stay off. I've lost it all before and just put it back on again, I don't want to do that again. I really still want to lose a stone by the end of Feb though as that was my initial goal, so I have my fingers crossed I've not scuppered that yes, I do want it all.
Well done Bssh, I think you are an inspiration to us all.
Double you are doing great, a stone in two months is not slow, it's a good, steady weight loss. Keep at it, or you'll have us to deal with! Grin
Tea Extreme shed and shred is a bit odd. Sme very funny moves. As you are meant to do LDL 1 and 2 back to back, so the whole thing takes about 1.15minutes, it is not as high intensity as the others. I am sweating like mad at the end and I do enjoy it but I haven't done it that much as often I only have 30-40 minutes for a workout. I'm thinking of getting killer buns and thighs next. Anyone got that?

WiseKneeHair · 22/02/2013 15:23

Sorry, not Tea , should have said Lizzy

DoubleMum · 22/02/2013 15:32

Wise you're quite right, as much as I do want to lose a bit quicker, even more I want it to stay off.
Have just been to a Pets at Home hamster workshop. Rabbit one tomorrow.
The joys of half term.

WiseKneeHair · 22/02/2013 15:47

Grin at the thought of Double at a hamster workshop. I can't remember exactly, but weren't hamsters about 2lbs, in which case Double you should have been there thinking "I've lost almost 7 of you buggers" Grin
Some things make me glad I wasn't able to take any time off at half term...
