Can you join weight watchers if you are pregnant?

I know it seems a bit of an odd question. But with my first pregnancy I put on three stone. (I am only 5ft) After giving birth I lost it all and more with a very harsh exercise and restricted diet. I am now four months preggars with my second and I have put on on 17lbs already.

Basically - I hardly ate before I was pregnant and when I became pregnant it was like a switch went off in my brain and then I ate EVERYTHING (particularly crisps like they are going out of fashion!) and I can't stop. And I can't seem to eat regularly and normally - and that was what I was hoping the support from something like weight watchers might help with. If I don't do something differently then I will put on more than three stone and I don't want to do that. Plus I am worried that I might give birth to a prawn cocktail crisp rather than a baby!

Would it be too weird to rock up? I've looked on the website and I can't find the contact details of the leader nearest me to ask her directly.

What do you think?

I think you can only join if you are three months pg or less, sorry!

You could join online and in the questions state that you are breastfeeding as it will add on extra points to account for that which you will need for the baby.

Good luck, I put in tons of weight with my first too but I was really overweight to begin with. I only gained a stone each time with the next two but I remember how anxious it made me feel!

you could look at the ww filling and easy plan, which is not portion restricted, but you eat certain filling and healthy foods until you feel full.

Thanks for your replies.

Sofaking - I am so happy to be pregnant but I can't help feeling out of control with my weight gain and it is making me anxious. I also feel like I should be able to control it but don't seem to be able to.

Ethel B - the filling and easy plan sounds good. If nothing else it could help me to structure my meals.

I will check it out online. xx
