I havent just gone wild this Christmas, I have gone wild since November!!! I am now heavier than the days I gave birth.

So, it STOPS now! I am off to Centre Parcs with the kids in 8 weeks and I CANNOT expose the general public to my 'exploded sofa' body!

Going to aim to lose a stone in 8 weeks... please please will you support me and put up with my ramblings about wanting a takeaway and wine?

Glad you are feeling better Lizzy. Low carbing seems to work for me, but can't do Atkins 'high fat low carb as feel terrible on it. Dukan seems to work, but is very restrictive, particularly in the first few days.
I know though, that bread and pasta induce a terrible craving in me and one thing leads to another, so am best off avoiding.

Managed to survive a weekend alone with the kids - cinema, Mc D's, trip into London. And I did not cheat. Not even a mouthful of popcorn or sneaky chip.
DH now back from a stag weekend, but is "really tired", asleep on the sofa //hmm

Cabbage - hope day one has gone well and that youir initial weigh-in was not too painful Grin

Can I join you please?? I could of written the op myself and need serious help and motivation! I've also got 1 stone to lose - weighed this morning and I weigh the same as I did when I gave birth 14 months ago argh! I had managed to lose quite a bit of that but ive just gone mad in the last couple of months and piled it all back on again. My problem is definitely take away, cheese and wine. Oh how I'm going to miss them sob!

Mrs3chins, I am flabby due to chocolate cheese and wine!

Sandwich, I have tried low carb a few times, do OK for a few weeks and then just feel ill and unhealthy. I know it really works for loads of people.

I am using Myfitnesspal is anyone else is on, it measures all that carb/protein shizzle and you can earn calories for wine by logging exercise.

Day 1. Didn't go too badly but evenings are my problem. Fish pie for dinner (scraping off mash for me) with lots of veg

I am flabby due to choc, cheese, wine, cake, crisps, just about everything that is bad for me!!

Mrs3chins - hope you get to change your name soon (although I could easily have chosen the nn 4 chins Grin)
I am quite pleased to be back at work - I find it easier to stay on track when I am not at home. Eating is def a boredom thing with me.

Hi everyone, Im with you all! Ive had two pregnancies in two years and I need to make big changes! My DD is now almost 5 months and I'm STILL wearing my maternity clothes! I got vouchers for Christmas and bought some new clothes however size 18 jeans are refusing to button over my jelly belly! My old pre pregnancy size 16 jeans have no chance of getting worn any time soon! So off I waddled today to Boots weighing scales thinking 'oh no I bet I will weigh about 14 and a half stone' then the scales flashed up a whopping 16 stone 0lb!! Blush So this is definitely it, I don't want to be the roly poly mum at the school gates, I'm determined to get rid of this weight once and for all! I know it wont be easy- who can say no to a two year old who is shoving chocolate buttons in your face- but I'm hoping for a few supporters who can cheer me on!!!

Happy to cheer you on - wish I had the excuse of having a five month old - my youngest is 6! Blush

I was v slim until DC. Was just thinking about this whole weight malarkey. For me I'd de stress of an evening with a walk, outing, sport or something. DD is 10 and I'm home alone. That's when I struggle. Can't go out or do anything.

So I nibble.

I need to lose a stone to get into healthy part of BMI chart. I'd like to lose 2 stone. I have never been very successful at consciously losing weight.

Lizzylou. I'll pm you re fitness pal. I use it as well

Hello, I'm starting tomorrow - I'm joining Weight Watchers. I'm sick of eating crap, feeling rubbish and looking like I have a spare tyre round my middle! I had my little boy 3.5 months ago and am breast feeding but no weight is dropping off as I was promised Blush obviously breast feeding doesn't make the pounds drop off when you stuff yourself silly with sugar!!

Report
CabbageLeaves · 08/01/2013 07:28

I didn't lose anything whilst breast feeding (sorry)

Woke in the night with pounding headache and feel really poorly. Can't decide if its new glasses, straining eyes or the diet. I've used slim fast and one meal. Drinking plenty :(

Cabbage, make sure you drink more! Will send request on mfp. Hope you feel better.
Sandwich, my youngest is 6 and I too am glad of work to stop boredom grazing!
Mrsn, I didn't lose weight breastfeeding, but it did drop off in one big chunk the less I bf as the boys grew.
Gillian, you can do this!
Good day foodwise and ran loads at gym. Next to teen skinny types but the good thing about getting older is having less shame about these things I find!

Thanks everyone! I've tried weight watchers and slimming world before and found I got bored of eating the same foods so always found good losses for the first two or three weeks then after that it all crept back on again! My most spectacular gain was 6.5lb in ONE week! Confused
So this time I'm gonna do it the old fashioned way-cut out the crap and do exercise! I've borrowed a double pram so I'm planning on doing alot of walking with the kiddies, hubby suggested that everytime I feel like eating crap to go for a walk to take my mind off it, in that case I would permanently be walking Wink

I managed to turn down birthday cake yesterday, so feeling very pleased with myself.

Hoping that my weigh-in tomorrow shows results. I feel thinner, but to be fair, I couldn't feel any fatter!
I think that my body has adjusted to the reduction in carbs - I am experiencing fewer cravings for bread, which is usually my downfall.
Eating loads of fish, which I love.

I have a wedding to go to this weekend. My body may look rubbish, but I have purchased some FAB shoes to make me feel better...

Really nice to have a small, supportive group on here; hoping that we can keep each other on track Smile

Oh and cabbage, when I said drink more, I didn't mean Chardonnay, just so we're clear!!! Grin

Well done sandWich on turning down birthday cake! You have more willpower than me- I was soooo good all day yesterday then DH suggested getting dinner from the chip shop last night and I couldn't say no! Peer pressure!! Then before I knew what was happening a curly wurly managed to sneak its way down my throat too Shock aw well, today is a new day!!

Report
SandWitch · 08/01/2013 09:43

Those Curly Wurlys are sneaky buggers Grin

Well done for the 'today is another day' approach. That's want I need to make sure I do when if I fall off the wagon. Not my usual trick of letting it all go pear shaped for weeks on end.

Going to try a new tactic tonight- I'm feeling brave so going to get DH to photograph me (not THAT type of photo, I'm not that brave GrinGrin) side view wearing a vest and pants, so I can see the full extent to my binging! Watching Lorraine this morning and it said its important to see yourself the way others see you! Then I will keep the photos and when I've lost the weight and I'm a sexy size 10 I can compare! Positive thinking right there Wink

Happy Tuesday One and All,

Well, since I started this thread I confess that I only started 'properly' yesterday, having convinced myself that, after my 'false start', it was completely wasteful to throw the Christmas nuts/selection boxes/remaining cider and wine away and so in the interest of ...errr... not being wasteful, I guzzled the LOT!

But since Monday....all has been well

TOP TIP... Go to bed after dinner...if like me you will be TOO LAZY to come back downstairs to snack! Jobsagoodun!!! Wink

the good thing about getting older is having less shame about these things I find! Oh yes Lizzy Grin

Nice shoes Sandwitch

CurlyWurlys are renowned for being wilful little devils Gillian. I had a holiday pic of myself in shorts slouched on a camping chair with scruffy hair and that stayed in my bedside cupboard for a long time to inspire. I now find visualising myself slim motivates me more. I think I'm a carrot rather than a stick person.

Two slim fasts and a stirfry with 5 jacobs crackers (left over from Christmas...) today

I've never done slimfast or any diet tbh. I've always just cutback and lost soooooo slowly that it's almost been impossible to believe I'm losing at all.

Well today I have been really good and feeling rather proud of myself! Activia breakfast pot for breakfast, baked potato and beans for lunch then chicken potatoes and veg for dinner! It's later on tonight when I get the kids to bed and sit down to catch up on tv I will be tempted to snack on anything chocolatey! Has anyone any tips to help stop these cravings? It's more habit than anything!

I've just weighed (I know I know) lost at least a lb if not 2. (My scales are rubbish...)

Runner, yep am off to bed now with a cup of fennel and nettle tea and my kindle.
It's all glamour!

We've all had good days then I think?

I did kettlecise in front of a mirrored wall. Certainly proved why I need to diet and exercise (ugh!).

Right - one week in an 6lbs lost hurrah!

I know that weight loss will slow up a fair bit now this initial week is over but feeling positive.

I am finding myself turning down invitations for nights out etc as I'm not sure that I will have the willpower to avoid being bad. Bloody typical though that my social diary has been non-existant for ages, but now I am dieting everyone seems to want my company Grin
