Did anyone else get a power hoop for Christmas?

I've fancied hula hooping and the DCs have given me a weighted hoop for Christmas.

Anyone else want to do a weight loss/fitness thread and trade tracks to hoop to etc?

Still pretty bruised but five days in and my hoop style is improving. Able to hoop around my hips (ish).

Can I admit now that I still haven't ventured into the back of the cupboard to dig out my hoop?
I promise I will join you in the new year.

get it out now! I am trying to do a wee bit each day so I can be a bit better at it by the time I get back to classes in January.

I am hoping it makes a difference - am using the 5lb powerhoop so its fairly heavy

I really want a 5lb one. I don't think mine is even 3lbs. I'll order one in a couple of weeks once I've got back into the swing of things.

O-Kay, yeah! Just did 7 min warm up (the beautiful DC girl warm up on YouTube) then 14 min hoop boogie. Feeling all glowy now.

I took yesterday off but I think one day out hasn't been a bad thing.

I have a hoop although no idea what a power hoop is and i used to use a dvd to exercise with.

This thread has made me think about getting it out from behind the heap of rubbish in the bedroom

I do the odd bit of hooping in front of the tv! As I do a lot of combat and spin classes I don't do it on a daily basis but I whip it out of the downstairs loo three or four times a week and have a little whirl for ten or 15 mins.

I was hilariously bad the first time I tried it but within ten mins of watching a YouTube tutorial I was hooping like a pro
