All new mummies welcome. Any exercise and/or weight loss programme acceptable, so long as it is healthy.

I am in please. DD2 is 3 weeks old and I plan to start WW online this Sunday (and in Middle East so Sunday first day of the week). I turn 40 this July, so my aim is 3 stone. I am DETERMINED not to feel fat on my birthday. I plan to buy an amazing dress and want to feel great.

Was planning to start walking in the evenings, but c-section scar has just become infected so think exercise will have to wait a few weeks.

Have new scales and now just need to cut out all the crap from my diet and stick to my points.

VisualiseAHorse · 02/01/2013 16:27

Sushi sounds good Candy!

Those who are still BF - please remember to still eat properly! You might find it easier to have 6 small meals a day, rather than 3 big heavy ones, which leaves big gaps in between for snacking!

I found cereal a godsend when BF - can be prepared and eaten with one hand. Plus you can add raisins, banana chips etc. I used to have cereal at 7.30am, brown toast at 9.30am, small salad sandwich at lunch, cereal at 2/3pm, small dinner with OH and then cereal before bed. I never ate during the night.

VisualiseAHorse · 02/01/2013 16:28

Lifeonthecanal - I really think you should wait until your c-section scar has healed before doing any exercise!!

Titsalinabumsquash · 02/01/2013 16:44

I'm eating enough I think, J is being a nightmare today just constant yelling, my nipples feel like they've been through a mincer .
We're all a bit mardy today, DP has spent most the day in our room on his fucking computer and the kids have been a bit whingey, I think they're bored.
I've been meaning to tidy the house for the past 2 days but unfortunately I'm struggling to move off the sofa because I feel rough.

ValiumQueen · 02/01/2013 17:20

visualise that is a splendid idea. There are enough calories to do six meals when you count in the bf ones. Thank you!

INeedThatForkOff · 02/01/2013 17:41

What I like about WW is that you get 14 extra points for BFing so I know I'm eating enough (less than I was troughing before though!) I was already losing weight slowly so it should work. It feels like plenty and there are no other restrictions.

Doing alright here, being more mindful and on day 2 of shredding :)

horseylady · 02/01/2013 18:34

Lane -look at hot chocolate or I find very dark chocolate brilliant for hitting the craving but you don't want to eat the 1kg bar at once!!!

CandyPop · 02/01/2013 19:11

Hairy dieters - bbc 2 , ideas for nice diet recipes :)

Revelsarethebest · 02/01/2013 19:25

Im sure i ve read somewhere about chocolate on this thread.

I had a friend once that bought a really horrible chocolate like 70% coco etc and when he fancied some chocolate he would have a piece of this horrible chocolate in his cupboard.

He reconed it puts you off chocolate and stops the craving, and also makes your brain associate the craving of chocolate with that horrible taste.

It worked for him so maybe worth a try.

INeedThatForkOff · 02/01/2013 19:33

I like dark choc! I bought some treat size Crunchies today. Just have to be restrained enough to have one a day, as opposed to eight as I did once when pregnant

StuntNun · 02/01/2013 19:46

I like 70% chocolate Revels. Maybe it was 99% Lindt, that's pretty hard to like. It's extra thin and you're supposed to put a square on your tongue and let it melt slowly. You couldn't eat the stuff normally, it's incredibly bitter and very dry because there's no sugar or fat in it. Bleugh!

horseylady · 02/01/2013 19:52

Yeah 70% or 80% it does the trick of giving you the chocolate hit but you don't need that much of it as you do dairy milk/galaxy etc.

ValiumQueen · 02/01/2013 19:55

70% is nice but not too nice.

I am watching Hairy Bikers too!

Checking in here-have got the hairy dieters cookbook and have fished out some recipes today. Weighed myself though and depressed myself that nothing seems to have shifted Sad. Am trying to console myself with the thought that Christmas excesses have caught up with me plus I've got the period from hell! I just want chocolate, damn it!!

Notgrownupinmyhead · 02/01/2013 20:20

Another one here Wink Hi, VQ!

Im about 14.5-15stone and a size 18/20. Would like to be a size 12/14. Had ds3 in September and have a problem with the usual stuff - chocolate, bread and big portions (not to mention the kids sweets that I steal eat).

I watched the Hairy Bikers too.

I can exercise on the Wii and need to leave the house more when ds1 is at school and its me and the babies so pushing a heavy double will help.

ValiumQueen · 02/01/2013 20:21

barmee periods will affect things. I am hoping mine stay away for a long time. How often are you weighing yourself?

Hiya notgrown welcome!

I found pushing a heavy double was really good exercise. Then I found out DH had only pumped the back tyres, and the front ones were almost flat. Not such a good workout now, but I can push it further Grin

I have had a terrible day.

Hormones are all over the place (after 7 weeks, is that even normal??) and I ate three chocolate biscuits, two cookies, 4 chicken dippers and a sausage roll. Thats it. All day.

Then we went food shopping. Dont ever go food shopping hungry.

The bakery reduced section had masses of carby fatty sugary things down to 26p. I bought muffins to add to my muffin top. I might throw them out tomorrow though.

No exercise either. The hormonal thing meant I was stuck to the bed until 2pm. Then got up and had a mad cleaning fit.

A walk tomorrow will hopefully get me feeling better.

Evilwater · 02/01/2013 20:43

Had a good day, walked twice the amount and got blisters the size of 2 pence pieces. Felt good after wards but half way around felt so tired.

I really, really want donuts, and pancakes. I now have fresh fruit.
Evil

Notgrownupinmyhead · 02/01/2013 21:05

I've got MFP on my phone that I've not used for 2m or so and it has housework as one of the exercise options on it (or I added it) along with gardening. Housework is great exercise I think dancing whilst doing it will help a but more too.

My double is heavy, ds2 is a right porker and he makes it worse.

Is anyone taking Evening Primrose or Starflower to help with hormones?

funchum8am · 02/01/2013 21:23

I have had an ok day. Didn't do my c25k but that is ok, I will go tomorrow which is still 3 outings in 6 days. I did walk for about an hour in total with the buggy though. I also ate the second to last mince pie and a bit of ice cream, and I will finish the rest tomorrow, so that will be all the festive treats gone. Also only had half a glass of wine as opposed to the usual whole one or two on a bad day

Tomorrow my goals are to do c25k run no. 3 and to place a healthy online shop.order to arrive on Monday as we are away this weekend.

I also watched Hairy Bikers - might make that cassoulet as it doesn't seem like diet food and DH is a rugby player (hobby not a professional!) so right up.his street for a Saturday post match dinner.

Well done evil and others who have had good days. We will all get there if we support each other

Passmethecrisps · 02/01/2013 21:40

Evening wibblers,

No movement here today apart from bowels and even those were minor.

DH however, is engaging fully with the effort and has taken to producing portions in line with NHS guidelines.

I am more of a savoury person but find that a hot choc type drink does the job if I have a sweet tooth. I have never found a suitable alternative to a delicious packet of crisps however!

Who was it mentioned shopping when hungry? I am terrible for this. End up with cupboard full of instant gratification foods and no ingredients.
