Okay I am going to be 100% honest on this - rules are

Post your height, weight and dress size
what you want to achieve
post everything you have eaten and drank every day if possible.
Also post details of any exercise taken.
When someone has been over indulgent we need to help support and remind them why they want to lose the weight.

anyone up for this?

I will start

I am 5ft 5" and weigh 16 stones Shock
I am a size 20 (but try to squeeze into 18!)
I have never been skinny but would like to be able to buy clothes anywhere so get to size 14ish.
I will post details later of food and exercise taken.

Someone join me please?

Welcome mumballl and thaks for your support carlyP!

Got on fine with HV yesterday - she is a lovely woman and is referring me to the CPN. I am glad I did something finally!

On the eating front I am doing not bad although I did have a little bit of DH's garlic bread last night and a few of DS's iced gems! I am buckling down today and upping my water consumption.

Mazzystar - snacking is fine as long as it is the right kind of snacking. It is easier to do this if you prepare healthy snacks in advance. You could make up a fresh fruit salad and keep it in the fridge or prepare some crudites and have some healthy dip on hand (hot salsa is very low calorie) As for portion sizes, have you tried using a smaller plate? It might work.

Jampots and tangerinecath - sounds like you are doing well!

Good luck today everyone! Smile

be strong and resist those easter eggs!

have been really good, with eating but it is so hard with the eggs around, one part of me thinks just eat them and get them out the way, then i think no just have a little a day, then i think maybe i could donate them somewhere,

Can I join in?

I'm 5 ft 7
16 stone
I'm a funny shape - quite small (relatively speaking) hips, reasonable bust, but big tum. Arms n legs quite dumpy too.

Size is difficult. I'm an apple shape - a pair of trousers can be big on hips but tight on waist, tops fit around bust but then tight over tummy.

So I would say trousers 18, top at least 20+ depending on style (and where purchased!)

I've lost just over a stone so far this year by eating sensibly and trying to exercise more - often easier said than done on both counts. I'm now 2 1/2 stone lighter than at my heaviest.

My eating habits have been all over the place, but this year I have retrained myself to have 3 meals a day, plus small snacks and plenty of fruit and water. Have come to a bit of a halt tho and need to rejig my eating plan a bit.

My aims:

to eat more healthily long-term (difficult when I am very faddy)

to be more healthy generally, have a tendency to high BP (not helped by my temperament either)

to buy some nice clothes that fit better for a cruise in August (my 40th birthday pressie)

mumball · 18/04/2006 11:56

Feel really bad , just ate all the left over chocolate eggs in the house. But at least I've got them out of the way. Had them for breakfast. Just been talking about Atkins diet, might give that a try again, but with smaller portions.

mumball · 18/04/2006 11:58

Hello ma2cra, I am an Apple shape too, I actually look 9 months pregnant, people keep asking me when the baby is dueBlush

fireflyfairy2 · 18/04/2006 12:27

I am 4ft 11"
Weigh 11 stone.
Dress size 14/16.

If I'm honest i'd say 16 but I still squeeze into the old 14's!
I have already been at weight watchers for about 8 weeks now and have lost almost a stone so that's a good start. My sister gets married in July so I want to lose weight for that.

can I join you ladies?

Anna22 · 19/04/2006 22:05

ooh can i join?! ive tried so many things, but itd be really good to have some support on here!

Im 5ft 9
weigh around 14 1/2 stone
dress size 16 (ish!)

would love to get down to 11 1/2 stone

my eating habits are crazy, they just entirely differ from day to day, some days i have sooo much will power and others are like today:

breakfast= spaghetti hoops and toast
lunch= chicken sandwich
dinner= salmon mash and veg

fine, you may think, exept in between those meals i ate 2 bags of crisps, 2 bacon rolls and a tub of ice cream
ARGGHHHH!!!

mazzystar · 19/04/2006 22:21

Well I was really strong-willed over Easter, despite having visitors and dh insisting on roasting a duck and then my mum's birthday and going out for lunch (2 starters, taste of someone elses pudding). Went to the gym twice too.

But its all gone even more pear-shpaed than me today, left to my own devices. So I am going to 'fess up to:
breakfast - porridge, natural youghurt, linseeds, apple slices and blueberries
lunch - egg mayonnaise sandwich, coleslaw,2 diet cokes (v v bad)
extended grazing from 3 - 9pm - 2 potato waffles, small piece of grilled chicken, 2 slices soda bread with cheese on, 6 cadbury's chocolate fingers, few forkfuls of dh's pasta supper.
no proper evening meal.

how stupid is that? its like i did it to spite myself

mumball · 21/04/2006 00:39

I am really chuffed went to S/W to get weighed and I lost one and half pounds, perhaps I should scoff Easter Eggs more often! It's good to see some similar diets to mine! How is everyone else doing on the weight loss front?

ma2cra · 21/04/2006 00:41

Still too much choc around after Easter, but managed to get over a tense moment yesterday when I could have quickly fallen into comfort-eating after a difficult funeral. (what funeral isn't difficult?)

Also used my exercise bike every day this week.

ma2cra · 21/04/2006 00:44

Well done mumball!

schneebly · 21/04/2006 07:16

Hi guys - sorry I havent been around for a couple of days - I have been bad and didnt want to admit to it! Blush It is a fresh start today though and I am still 3lbs lighter! Welcome to Ma2cra, fireflyfairy2 and Anna22 - well done for joining us. Keep us informed as to how you are getting on and what you are eating.

Mazzystar - dont worry just draw a line under it and have a good day today. Dont give up just because of a bad day, you can do it.

This morning I have had a bowl of cheerios and some chamomile tea.

Fresh start today.

Although I've continued using my exercise bike, I've eaten far too much, and not just the chocolate from Easter.

I feel quite bloated, so at least I'm physically aware, as well as the "woe is me, why did I do that?" if you know what I mean.

I'm away this weekend, meeting up with some friends, so hopefully that will help me focus on having a good week in the run-up.

mazzystar · 26/04/2006 20:38

hello
(cups hand to ear to listen for the echo)
is anyone out there?
how are you all getting on?

i really need some encouragement not to eat the peanut butter kitkat DH has just brought home to tantalise me

Littlefish · 27/04/2006 22:17

Don't do it Mazzystar - move away from the chocolate!!!!

Actually, I'm feeling really proud of myself. I went to an exercise class on Monday, and managed to do the whole thing without stopping.

Not bad at all for a seriously fat bird who hasn't done any exercise for about 4 years!!!!

Also, I'm starting my counselling next weekend to try and deal with all my emotional baggage.

schneebly · 27/04/2006 22:44

Hi Guys - you came back! Smile I have had a bad time the last wee while but ready to hop back on the wagon - tommorow is another day!
Littlefish - did you eat the kitkat? Grin

Ma2cra - well done with the exercise bike - fresh start good idea!

Littlefish - also great job with the exercise and I really hope your counselling goes well, am waiting on appointment myself! Smile
