Can I get a better body at the tender age of 34 ?

I took on running in march and I have lost a stone since starting..now I have 2 more stones to lose. I have joined a gym and I am planning on doing weight watchers...

I'm quite motivated but in my head I can't imagine myself being slim or toned...because I'm 34...for some reasons I have a big problem with growing older (always have since I can remember)....I feel I'm past that.

Any positive experience to share with me ??

Absolutely :)

On 5th August this year I weighed 12 stone 10 pounds around a size 16. I saw a photo of myself on facebook that upset me so much I cried Blush Around the same time I had the dreaded "when are you due?" conversation.

On 6th August I joined Myfitnesspal, it has worked for me, and two of my friends that also joined. I now weigh 10 stone 6, size 10 and it honestly hasn't been that hard. MFP makes you accountable to yourself and it feels just like managing a bank account, calories in and calories out.

It has happened so quickly for me that my head has not caught up with my body, but I feel so much better about myself. I live a healthier more active life and my only regret is spending the last few years feeling so trapped in a body I didnt want.

If I can do it, anyone can. I only have 6 lbs left to lose and feel absolutely certain that i will get there (same age as you, btw!)

Hi Firstpost,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this post ! It's a real inspiration. After I have lost the 1rst stone, I have also lost my modjo for some reasons and everytime I'm thinking I can do it, I put myself down by saying that I'm too old/unfit.

Yes you can! I lost 1 1/2 stone at 39 then toned/fittened up with shred, great supportive thread on here helped me. I can 2nd MFP asI use it to keep me on straight & narrow! I fluctuate by about 7lbs as I tend to relax over school hols but I won't go back to what I was as I feel sooo much betterSmile

Dear god. 34?

I have changed shape in the last 12 months - dropped more than a dress size to a 10/small 12 and have toned up my legs, bum and arms
I m 51 next week

You need to address the 'I can't see myself as slim and toned'

It will sabotage you otherwise.

I know I'm silly regarding age...I was always like that, remembering getting depressed because I was going to turn 11 !! I really want to look better but more importantly I want to be fitter and having bags of energy.

Seriously, try MFP (I dont work for them, promise!)

As your weight drops then that success will encourage you for the next day.

Any you are definitely not old cos if you are, I am
