2lbs a week for 35 weeks- anyone in?

I have a pretty big move coming up in just under 9 months. want to be at my ideal weight by then. This will involve losing a minimum of 5 stones (70lbs). I have come to the conclusion that doing a crazy all or nothing weightloss plan isn't going to work for me. what ordinarily happens is that I lose loads to begin with, then it all goes to pot and I put it all back on again.
So... would anyone like to join me. My first target is 10lbs by the end of november. I will just be eating lower carb, less snacking, more exercise where possible (7 mo dd and dh who works shifts, so a bit of a challenge sometimes!).

Looks like everyone is back on track this week. Has anyone got much going on to tempt them off track this week? My Christmas work's meal is not until Friday so hopefully I'll do ok again on Wednesday weigh in. Although my husband is off for Christmas now (teacher) so need to make sure he doesn't persuade me to have any takeaways etc!

I'm meeting a mumsnetter for lunch on Wednesday but hopefully that's all!

juneybean · 20/12/2012 12:06

too many mince pies...Xmas Sad, but it's a good thing to be here because it stops me mindlessly snacking.

juneybean · 21/12/2012 10:45

I lost a pound, I think that's it now, time for Christmas! Grin

doyouwantfrieswiththat · 21/12/2012 10:55

Happy Christmas Juneybean hope it's a good one. Xmas Smile

Chocchip88 · 27/12/2012 08:46

Weigh in tonight. I have been 100% unhealthy and over eating every day over Christmas and a sneaky weigh in this morning shows a 5lb gain! Will see if the scales agree tonight. I'm back on plan today, giving myself the next 2 weeks to get rid of Christmas weight then I'll carry on aiming to get 3 stone off by my brother's wedding.
Has anyone managed not to gain weight this year?

shellyf · 27/12/2012 15:42

Can I join please?I had lost 23lbs but have put 3 on this week.Would love to lose another 20lbs.

juneybean · 27/12/2012 15:47

Happy Christmas all! I'll weigh in tomorrow morning but I think I've managed to only put on a couple of lbs!

Then I've got til July to lose at least 45lbs!

Chocchip88 · 27/12/2012 16:54

Hi Shelly of course you can join.
Well done to you and juneybean for minimum gain over Christmas, very jealous!

juneybean · 30/12/2012 11:04

I've entered you and I onto January spreadsheet

Welcome Shelly, feel free to add yourself!

shellyf · 30/12/2012 18:16

Thank you.Will do.

Chocchip88 · 30/12/2012 18:18

Thanks Juneybean. Today the scales told me I have lost only 1lb of my 5.5 gain. How come it's so easy to gain and so hard to lose?

juneybean · 30/12/2012 18:24

A lb loss in a few days isn't bad! But I know what you mean, I think I've held back over Christmas because I was frightened of putting weight on.

juneybean · 01/01/2013 19:01

Oh it's all gone terribly wrong since weigh in day, dreading Friday!

Chocchip88 · 02/01/2013 12:06

Me too juneybean Confused was giving myself 2 weeks to lose Christmas weight but think I've probably gained this week. Will find out tonight.
Stupid cake.

Chocchip88 · 02/01/2013 21:24

Somehow managed to scrape 1 1/2 pounds this week. Really not sure how, 1 good day, the rest if the times my meals were good but snacking was out of control! However I did watch some of my 30 Day Thread DVD today, maybe just watching it burned a few calories! Really hoping for 4 pounds Shock next week to get rid of Christmas gain. Think I'm asking a bit much!

juneybean · 02/01/2013 23:49

Well done chocchip ! You can do 4lbs! I believe in you! Grin I'm still munching festive food so will start properly on Saturday I think!

Chocchip88 · 03/01/2013 11:45

Aah thanks juney, hope so.
Hope you get back on track on Saturday, have you got something to aim for this year?

juneybean · 03/01/2013 12:56

Yes, hoping to lose 45lbs or so to get down to BMI of 30 so I can TTC later this year.

What about you?

Chocchip88 · 03/01/2013 18:46

Ooh exciting! I wanted to lose weight before I TTC but I didn't seem to have the motivation - which is ridiculous really. The only time I've not over eaten was when I was pregnant though, I think DH put on more weight than me finishing my leftovers!
My first goal is to get 3 stone off by my brother's wedding - end of March - and then 5 stone off by the time I go back to work in August. I still have plenty more to lose but I'm just focusing on them for now.

juneybean · 03/01/2013 23:01

That's a good target, I think it's best to be realistic, like BMI of 30 for me is 13st 5 and I know that's still overweight but it's somewhere to get to then after that I can reassess and maybe look to getting down to the 12 stones.

Because I think if I had said I want to get to 10 stone from my original 19st 5 I'd have lost motivation.

juneybean · 06/01/2013 21:33

Put another pound on by Friday argh! So that's 3lbs on over the holidays but now I'm back on myfitnesspal recording everything I eat!

MrsLHofstadter · 07/01/2013 09:52

Oh it's all gone horribly wrong! Aim is to lose as much as I can by april and then see where I am at.
