Would you mind posting how long you've done this and how much you've lost? I do look at the main thread but there is loads of info on there.

TIA

Just starting my 9th week and have lost 11lbs...

dontcallmehon · 22/10/2012 13:22

Not sure how long I've been doing it - a few months I think? I've gone from 11 stone 5 to 9 stone 9. I now have a BMI of 21!

HelgatheHairy · 22/10/2012 14:10

I've been doing it 3 weeks and have lost 7 pounds.

Mintyy · 22/10/2012 14:12

I have been doing it since 1st September and think I might have lost 3 or 4lb, maybe not. My clothes do not feel much looser, tbh.

Yes, I am disappointed.

Next step to gp to get thyroid checked (I have long suspected I have a duff one)

dontcallmehon · 22/10/2012 16:31

Oh - forgot to add the important extra bit of info - I do ADF (with the odd missed fast day) not 5:2 - which must make quite a big difference!

dalek · 22/10/2012 19:57

Thank you for your replies.

Mintyy -hope you get your thyroid sorted if it's a problem. My sister has an underactive thyroid and once she got her medication sorted out she could not believe what a difference it made to her life - she couldn't believe that everybody felt as well as she did on thyroxine, all the time.

dontcallmehon - is that every other day? Is that difficult to plan social life around?

OP posts:
dontcallmehon · 22/10/2012 23:20

It's not too bad, as I will miss a day if something comes up now and again. I have been known to do two consecutive days, but generally will just skip a day and not worry. When I lose the last 10 pounds I will fast for just one or possibly two days a week.

hoops997 · 23/10/2012 00:18

I'm in my 6th week and I've lost 13lbs, I'm also doing ADF and sometimes I skip fast days and eat cake Blush like tonight

It's a brilliant WOE and very flexible

tumbletumble · 23/10/2012 08:08

Have been doing 5:2 for 7 weeks and lost 8lb - am reasonably happy with that

dalek · 23/10/2012 09:29

I am doing cambridge at the moment - deadly dull but I know the weight will come off. Was looking at 5:2 as a way to maintain once I lose the weight. Am a bit scared to go straight to 5:2 in case I put on the weight I've already lost and/or stop losing as my calorie intake has been so low for the last couple of weeks.

OP posts:
TellMeLater · 23/10/2012 13:48

I've been doing it since August and have lost nothing - it's helping me maintain, so I suppose that's something.

GreenEggsAndNichts · 25/10/2012 12:02

I've been doing 4:3, close to ADF but this way I can always have Sunday as a non-fast day. I've been at it since mid-August, and have lost 17 lbs or so. I have found it very easy and it's not difficult at all to plan social outings around. It's nice to have a plan where I'm losing weight AND can go out and eat a meal without explaining why I can't eat certain things. :)

MikeOxardForHalloween · 26/10/2012 13:03

Same as greeneggs, I do 4:3 and have been for about 11 weeks. I have lost around 2 stone so far.

TalkinPeace2 · 26/10/2012 22:27

Ooops multiple post and don't know how to delete it Blush

scattergun · 28/10/2012 09:06

Since mid-August
Doing 20:4/18:6 (4-6 hour eating window each day)
Lost 10-11 lbs (tall, early 40s)
2-3 lbs to go.
On this for life I think. Finding it natural.

babbas · 30/10/2012 22:50

Started 5 weeks ago. Not lost anything. Very disappointed!

bunjies · 02/11/2012 13:48

8 weeks and no loss. Another who is disappointed.

frenchfancy · 04/11/2012 10:16

8 weeks in, lost 9lb. Very happy, finding it very easy.

HelgatheHairy · 04/11/2012 19:50

Weighed this morning after no loss last week and I'd lost 3.2 pounds. That takes total loss to 10 pounds in 5 weeks.

NakedButNotFamous · 09/11/2012 11:38

Been doing 5:2 for 6 weeks and lost a stone. Very pleased

I'm on week 2 and lost about 10 pounds already. I'm amazed! On my eat days I ve been eating cakes, chocolate and had a wine heavy night out. I'm hoping for a stone more and I ll be happy. I feel its sustainable too.
