Afternoon all

BIWI great news re the measurements and MsRinky 3 stones is fab well doneGrin

I have had a rubbish day, been at the John Radcliffe Hospital since 9am having tests, took hours only to be told the one test I had gone for they could not do!!! so DH took me for a big glass of wine.Smile

Have not eaten as yet but think it will be an Indian take awayWink

Viperidae · 12/10/2012 16:45

I do still struggle with the Diet Coke/Pepsi thing, I went without it for a week then fell off that particular wagon but am pleased that I have dramatically reduced the amount I am drinking to around 1 can per day (am now drinking mostly tap or sparkling water). I bought cans as the quantity is easier to regulate than from a bottle and now view it as a special treat rather than drinking all the time. Now I know it is not good to have any but my theory is that having reduced my intake this far will make it far easier to give it up next time I try, which will be soon.

Made the mistake today of going to trainer after 1 rasher bacon and 2 poached eggs and really struggled, just felt like hard work. He suggested have something with a bit of carb in before next time (his suggestion was wholemeal toast but I thought greek yoghurt with a bit of rhubarb or some berries) and have bacon and eggs after.

TheHumancatapult · 12/10/2012 17:12

Viper I just done working out and had eaten before and it was harder work .maybe full feeling making us more sluggish I'm a definte morning workout person

AuntieMaggie · 12/10/2012 17:42

2 nuts??? Boobz your diet may be working for you but it sounds bonkers to me... at least following this I don't have to restrict things!

BigBroomstickBIWI · 12/10/2012 17:45

AuntieMaggie - there's a fab recipe in the IPD recipe book for thai-style meatballs, which I think I've copied onto the recipe thread. It calls for pork mince, which is really cheap at Sainsbury's at the moment.

vnmum · 12/10/2012 19:04

toomuch My DC's breakfasts are:
Porridge (not ideal)
full fat greek yog with sliced or dried fruit and flaked almonds, layered with a splash of double cream on top
Cream cheese pancakes and either fruit and yog or bacon
eggs in some form

Had a delicious tea today. DS loved the veg and even DH liked the cauli which is a miracle. It was
Pork fillet and a roast chicken thigh with meditteranean roast veg, roast cauliflower and sprouts sauteed with chorizo, all with added butter.

I will put the sprouts recipe on the recipe thread.

MrsHerculePoirot · 12/10/2012 19:18

My DD isn't yet 3 so I am just go with the flow with her meals at the moment. Some ate carby but many aren't and for example if she has breaded chicken or fish then she usually just has veg with it. Tonight she chose pepperoni pizza which she had with crispy kale (seaweed style) and green (spicy!) olives! She has never really been into toast or bread ad prefers to eat the sandwich fillings so that looks good! As I am v overweight and have yoyo dieted much of my life I have consciously never gone down the 'you have to eat this before pudding' route. She tells me when he has had enough of something and when she is hungry... No idea how it will all workout...

WineGless · 12/10/2012 19:48

Evening, will catch up properly just putting DC to bed and having tea which DH should be cooking but he is playing on his iPhone
Hmm

Doshusallie · 12/10/2012 20:04

Vnmum may start my two on Greek yog for brekkie as am off dairy and they can eat it instead! Good idea.

Am drinking gin.

Have had pkt of pork scratchings and 4 brazil nuts.

Tea is chicken wrapped in bacon with cream cheese(only dairy today) and pesto and olives, with leeks, courgettes, mushrooms fried in. Utter. When dh stops gassing with mil and goes and cooks it.....

Poppy1234 · 12/10/2012 20:29

My two eat similar breakfasts to vnmum, although probably too heavy a reliance on porridge. Greek yoghurt is the only yoghurt I have given them as it was the only thick yoghurt available when I did baby led weaning. Love your idea vnmum of layering with fruit, nuts and cream.

Had fabulous lunch today, it was just egg mayonnaise and salad but our nanny made it for all of us and the presentation was just gorgeous, it's the small things which make the difference.

Went for a quick glass of wine with DH this afternoon, normally on a Friday night this would then result in another glass or 2 after children's bedtime but I really enjoyed the glass I had out and didn't feel the need for anymore. I think my 12 days of no vino helped break a weekend habit.

Think I maybe addicted to roasted cauliflower, it is just gorgeous.

Hope you all have a good Friday night.

Evening all.
Well, I have survived day one. I've felt pretty hungry though so feel like I have eaten a lot! I was doing nicely until I succumbed to a few berries after my tea (I know, I know. But going from buttercream to absolutely NO sweet within 24 hours is hard).

B: 2 eggs, 1 rasher bacon
L: poached salmon and avocado salad.
D: Pot roast chicken with cider, bacon, mushrooms and creme fraiche. With cauli mash and baby leeks.
Snacks: baby bel. Couple of spoons of egg mayo. A small cup with total yoghurt, flaxseed and a few berries.

That does seem a lot. I need to wean myself back off the milk in tea and coffee and get into ketosis, so the hunger goes away a bit!

Thanks for adding me to the spreadsheet.

AuntieMaggie · 12/10/2012 21:05

Thank you mother

Our local shop has lots of polish sausagey and meaty things - is there anything I can get that will be low carb?

caramelwaffle · 12/10/2012 21:33

Good evening everyone.

Breakfast - Greek yoghurt before exercise.

Lunch - Greek restaurant (Aubergine... something. Grilled halloumi and baked pork belly which was absolutely delicious)

Eating at restaurants really make you think about portion sizes; could have been satisfied with only the pork belly for lunch really.

Dinner - Avacado/olives/roquefort cheese starter with baked lamb steaks for main. Water 2l.

Feel absolutely full up.

vnmum · 12/10/2012 22:03

poppy i layer the yogurt up in a glass as it looks fancy for them Smile. This morning DD had it with srawberries, sometimes she will have dried apricots. DS had banana and raisins layered in it.

pipsqueak · 13/10/2012 00:12

Hi everyone . Am Super impressed with everyone's weight loss and enthusiasm on this thread. It is rather inspirational to a newbie like me! Have just started low carbing and going well so far but only a few weeks in. I have a
few questions if anyone has time:
What sort of Yoghurt is recommended? I have been having yeo valley. natural lowfat but not sure if this is okay?

Secondly Is it a disaster to have milk with coffee? I probably fhave half pint day and don't think I can face black coffee all the time ..
Lastly I'm off to New York for half term with the children to celebrate a significant birthday And I'm not sure how this WoE will fit in But loving it so far.SmileSmile

Mahoosive thanks to BIWI for Starting this off.

caramelwaffle · 13/10/2012 00:20

Full fat yoghurts only Pips: the low fat ones normally contain large amounts of sugar.

pipsqueak · 13/10/2012 06:49

Thanks caramelwaffle - full fat !! Haven't ate anything full fat in years! It really is new wOE ! Yum though !

cathyandclaire · 13/10/2012 07:51

pips I can't drink black coffee either but I've converted to lacto free milk, it's slightly lower carb, can't really the tell the difference in taste and it seems somehow richer so I need a much smaller amount. I know lots of the experienced low-carbers have a splash of cream...
Wow NYC... have a fab time!have a cosmopolitan cocktail for me

MrsHerculePoirot · 13/10/2012 07:53

Pip have cream (full fat) in coffee instead!

DIYapprentice · 13/10/2012 08:53

Soya Milk is a lot lower in carbs. Why not try that?

DIYapprentice · 13/10/2012 08:56

Went to the pub for a meal last night. Had a fillet steak which came with some grilled tomatoes (didn't eat, don't like tomatoes so that was easy) spinach and some .... wait for it..... roasted celeriac!!!! Yay, I luffs my pub! Grin. And I had still water with it, no alcohol at all.

I'm still in the 12 stone region. Won't get under that by Monday's weigh in, but hopefully I will get into the 11 stone region by the following weigh in.

Doshusallie · 13/10/2012 09:30

Morning all. 2 boiled eggs for breakfast, DTWLFM, berocca and another glass of water. Still 9 2, hope I can hold into it for Monday's weigh in!!
