We've nearly grown out of the last thread here so i started the new one.

We're all doing different things but we're all here to support each other on the journey. We kick each other when we need it and offer sympathy when that's more appropriate.

We have a 13ft trampoline. Unfortunately I can't play on it Sad. Bladder is just to weak. As soon as i jump i leak Blush. I think i might have a slight prolapse too but not got around to speaking to the doctor.

I messed up the day by eating 2 rocky bars and 2 bags of monster munch BlushAngry. Although actually MM are only 108 calories which is less than this mornings cereal bar.

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 22/10/2012 23:18

Yum, don't think I would be able to resist monster munch either.

ICBINEG · 23/10/2012 00:47

okay - there is no easy way to broach this topic...and I am mindful that most of you may see this uncomfortably close to breakfast time....but....

lets talk about poo (well someone else mentioned wee tortoise )

So is anyone else getting proper constipation issues now they are eating less?

I am sure the transit time has slowed due to less food volume or something...or maybe I accidentally cut out all the fibre (which would be a mistake as it is indigestible anyway)...so erm any thoughts/suggestions?

tiggy114 · 23/10/2012 06:54

Tortoise i know what you mean!!!! I don't actually leak but i always need the loo when i get on the trampoline!!! It's the strangest thing!!!!! No i havn't had problems being constipated. Do you eat plenty of fruit and veg? I've heard bananas can bung you up.

Tortoise · 23/10/2012 07:03

No poo problems here Grin.

Youcanringmybell · 23/10/2012 07:49

ICBneg....I have problems...when I diet it excerabates my IBS. I get days where I do not go (5 days+) and then a day when I am in and out bathroom. So....I will start on the fibregel again - yuk!!

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 23/10/2012 10:47

What a lovely conversation! I haven't noticed a difference with poos but then my body's a bit random anyway. Sometimes I go twice a day, sometimes not for 2 or 3 days. I eat quite well normally so it doesn't really bother me.

Do you think it makes much difference with weigh in? It's funny how I lost 4lb one week and nothing the week before and after, yet I wasn't doing anything different in the week I lost the weight.

TheHumancatapult · 23/10/2012 11:43

Johnny defintley makes a differance for me but my case slightly Differnt as I can go 9:/10 days easily but some I think is change in diet but more akward as have nerve damage that affects bowels

TheHumancatapult · 23/10/2012 11:46

Add in I'm low carbing and low calorie ( shush don't tell the bootcampersWinkBut I am also eating heavy on protein ( chicken/turkey\tuna} as its my best way of advoidibg pressure sores

Tortoise · 23/10/2012 12:39

I'm about to try the Thai curry veg pota

cookieowner · 23/10/2012 13:21

im out tonight to Prezzo but have looked up all the calories so will choose sensibly!
2 of my daughters both bought me a 'you have lost a stone' present, which was lovely and really inspires me to keep going!

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 23/10/2012 13:37

Human, I hope that's not too uncomfortable.

Cookie, what lovely daughters. I haven't told mine (they're too young to really understand). I love prezzo because you can get either a pasta and a salad or a pizza and a salad and they're all low cal. I find I get bored with a normal sized pizza or pasta so even when I'm not trying to lose weight I have the prezzo light option.

ICBINEG · 23/10/2012 13:40

hmmm so not entirely just me then...I do eat a lot of bananas...so maybe time to knock that on the head....

cookieowner · 23/10/2012 13:50

Im old (haha) so my daughters are grown up , but yes it was a lovely thought especially as one of them is away and sent it especially
Prezzo are very good with plenty of choices

TheHumancatapult · 23/10/2012 14:41

Cookie that's fab

Though I cheated and by myself one every half stoneGrin

Johnny no it's ok does not bother me in the slightest and the weight drop when go is fab lol

I'm just wondering how you all cook mince?
I always fry it and hadn't thought of any other way.
Boyf boils it. I was shocked as i'd not actually ever heard of boiling mince.
But since googling it, i find that actually it can be a good way to cook it as it takes out the fat. (And the flavour which needs replacing with stock or whatever!)
Still don't fancy it myself but wondered if it was a common way to cook it.

emonslemons · 23/10/2012 22:54

tortoise - boiling mince.....blah......sounds yukky, but i knw pakistanis boil it to remove excess fat when making sheek kebabs.

icbineg - i found im more regular in the bowel department, as im eating loads more fruit and veg and reduced fats (which positively impact on livers function).

emonslemons · 23/10/2012 22:56

how long have you guys been on your diets then?

also intrested to know what type of exercise takes your fancy.....any jillian fans on here?

TheHumancatapult · 24/10/2012 00:01

Tortoise I always boiled mince and it is fine

Emmalouise

I been on mine since mid June and am now 77lb lighter . Am low calorie and low carb tis very boring and first few weeks was very hard work but it is working

I do a form of DdP yoga but mines been adapted especially for me as in in a Wheelchaur

dancinginthemoonlight · 24/10/2012 07:46

Hi I weighed myself tues and was 11 St 1 so 3 off. Having trouble typing on phone as it jumbles the words up. My mince always goes in the slow cooker. No oil used :-). Then the flavours infuse as they slow cook :-). Ill be back later on the laptop!

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 24/10/2012 09:06

I've never heard of boiling mince, I dry fry low fat mince and am happy with it like that. Does anyone cook with turkey mince? For some reason I don't find it appealing but if you have any good suggestions I might give it a go.

Tortoise if you do try boiling mince and want to add flavour I can recommend Worcester sauce. It is in the hairy bikers cottage pie recipe and yummy.

Lemons, I've been doing this since 18th September when someone emailed a picture of me with such a round, fat face I was horrified. I started by downloading the virtual gastric band hypnosis app and found my appetite diminished pretty much immediately. Then found this group and mfp and have lost nearly 10lb. Exercise by swimming and walking (broke foot in summer so still taking it easy).

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 24/10/2012 09:07

Well done dancing that's brilliant news.

tiggy114 · 24/10/2012 09:12

I buy quorn mince which is low fat and fry it in a nonstick pan with no oil. It doesn't stick. You need sauce though as it's a bit dry.

Youcanringmybell · 24/10/2012 09:17

emmalouise - I started mid september and although I have had a couple of didgy weeks I have lost 10 pounds. I usually crash diet, lose a stone and then stop. However, this time it is a change for life. I am doing it slowly deliberately. I would normally have given up by now - but here I am eating my weight watcher biscuits for breakfast and feeling ok about it.

johnny - I like turkey mince. Very nice made into a 'shepherds' pie with a chicken stock cube and mashed swede and carrot on top or as a bolognese. Go for it - I think you will like it.
