Mumsnet Academy course announced with weight loss expert Dr John Briffa: what do you think?

Hello everyone,

We are delighted to announce that diet and weight loss specialist Dr John Briffa is teaching a one-day masterclass challenging the preconceptions of dieting for the Mumsnet Academy on 21 October in London (£99).

Mumsnetters rightly badgered us for ages to get Dr John to MNHQ for a webchat and here, at last, is a one-off opportunity to meet the man himself as he reveals how to overcome all the common pitfalls of weight loss strategies.

Quick summary: during the course Dr John will explain how not all calories are created equal, and how to eat in a way which will allow fat loss and maintain the metabolism without inducing hunger or feelings of deprivation. Comprehensive advice will be given on exercise too, and in particular the forms of exercise that are most effective for shifting fat and enhancing health.

We'd love to hear what you think of this masterclass and, of course, hope that many of you decide it's a great course and decide to sign up.

Patrick

Hello Patrick Um, I have no idea about the academy thingy for one thing I'm not in London for another I couldn't afford the £99 either but I felt bad that a staff members post was on unanswered messages so I stopped by to say Hello and stop you being lonely. Grin

I live in London and am interested but I think it is too expensive. Also I think you need to make the day sound a bit more participative and tailored to the audience. For that long a day you need to feel it has relevance to your life. I think £70 sounds more like itGrin

Hi janx, thanks for posting. This is good feedback and, in light of your point about price, would be happy to extend you (and everyone else who books before 1 October) and Early Bird discount of 20% off. If you are interested, please enter the code EarlyBird when booking.
