Losing weight/Bread

Hi, I absolutely love a sandwich where I use brown wholemeal buns. I normally have one or two a few times per week..I have lost 2 stone in weight since starting a gym last Oct 4 times per week for 2 hrs and healthy eating. I however for the past few months haven't lost anything at all and can't understand why.

My eating is based on 1300 calories a day at 5"2 and 12 stone 1.

I normally have either rice krispies or scrambled eggs with a slice of Nimble in the morning. a sandwich in the afternoon after gym. fish with plenty veg for dinner and maybe fruit and a yoghurt for snacks.

I feel your pain!! Ive lost 4.5 stone over the last 18 months with weight watchers and the last 3 months I have been hovering at exactly the same weight!! I loose a pound and then put one on!! Frustrating isnt it!!

I did a week of no carbs and trying slim fast....lost 5pounds but then put 3 straight back on again!! For me I think it is because I have started having weekends off so Monday to Friday is just compensating. It sounds like you are being strict though....I would really try no bread or carbs for 5-6 days and you may find it will kickstart you again. Or if you do generally eat the same thing everyday...try breaking the routine! Ive heard sometimes the body needs a fat or sugar boost to kickstart weight loss again after prolonged periods of dieting. Good luck! :)

I've given up bread .
it's an unpopular view but I think at 5'2 with quite a lot to lose you can and should go lower than 1300 if you are not losing

nananaps · 11/09/2012 21:10

Yeah agree, cut out bread completely for a couple of weeks, see if that gives you a boost.

Nibble is shite anyway!

nananaps · 11/09/2012 21:12

Tuna with a huge box of crunchy salad poss???

Feckbox · 11/09/2012 21:15

large lettuce leaves spread with tuna and a little mayo / onions/ chopped red peppers/ sweetcorn or whatever, and rolled up like a wrap make a tasty snack

jane0o0 · 11/09/2012 21:35

Ah right. so is wraps and pittas better for ya or should they be cut out as the bread?

Just I like an odd quorn burger and normally put in a bun so wouldn't know what I could use instead.
