Feel so disgusted with myself that I have let this happen. Mainly due to extreme comfort eating as life has been so stressful.

Also just seen a picture of me taken the other night (I thought I looked hot) I actually look like a fat blob who needs to change ASAP or just keep getting fatter!

I try to kid myself I'm not fussed by my weight but I am as it is starting to affect my health - I'm getting heart burn, snoring like a pig so DH sleeps on the sofa, the floor is a lot lower down than it once was!

Any one out there want to join me in getting back to who I should be?Smile

Don't feel disgusted. I am a massive comfort eater. So far this year I have lost 3 1/2 stone (bit more to go). I take a day at a time, try and make the right choices and exercise more. Yesterday we were fat blobs but tomorrow..?
Next year I shall be fit and forty! Good luck.

sunshine completely share your whoopsness. I was a size 16 pre dd but with a difficult pg where I had to eat all day long to help the nausea for the whole 9 months I put on a shed load a few dress sizes. Plus, then with bfing I was blooming ravenous all the time so carried on eating all day long. I also have issues with comfort eating and other psychological things to do with food. I have lost 1 stone since last year and I've joined a gym recently. I'm a teacher so while I'm on summer hols I'm going to try really hard to do as much as I can with my weight (sensibly) and turn around myself. I've been doing workouts about 4 times a week (I say workouts, I'm v unfit so they are gentle) for the past 2 weeks or so and cutting back on things I eat (but trying not to let myself get too hungry as it's then that I eat bad stuff from desperate hunger). I've got in an ideal perfect world 6 stone to lose but tbh I'd be happy if I could lose 4 stone. I'm ready to join you to get back to it. How have you done today so far?

I know I bang on about low carb like a bit of a cracked record on MN Grin, but I can really, really recommend it as a way of eating, and as a way to lose weight without feeling those awful hunger pangs. Come and join us on the Bootcamp support chat thread (we're not actually Bootcamping at the moment, but there are lots of people who are low carbing who can help and support you.)

Thing with me is teamgb that I'm really restricted in my diet and I don't think low carb would be at all healthy for me. I'm veggie and gluten free and avoid a number of foods due to bad IBS including beans and lentils, so, protein wise my main sources are tofu/soya beans, dairy, nuts and seeds and some quinoa. I don't think it's enough variety or the stuff to help me lose weight Sad

You're probably already fairly low carb then, archareastie, surely? Presumably you aren't eating bread/pasta anyway, if you're gluten-free? It is possible to do low carb if you're a veggie, but as a committed carnivore, I don't know enough about it. Sorry. Overall, though, from a low carb WOE point of view, I'd say look at increasing your fat and cutting out any other carbs, like sugar/chocolate/fruit - and eating more veg/salad instead.

But really good luck to you, however you end up going.
