YES. You will probably go into starvation mode mon-thurs and then stock up on the 1000 extra cals sat and sun. How about doing 1600 mon to fri and an extra 300 on the weekend.
I do ww sun to thurs evening, weigh in Fri morning and then have what i want fri and ease back into it sat. I don't go mad and gorge on chocs and cream cakes, anymore, but I have a couple. Weight loss is slow, 1 stone since January but it is coming off and I aren't denying myself so much that I have to gorge.
Slow weight offf is so much better then a quick weight loss usually followed by a slow weight gain

mummmsy · 20/07/2012 23:13

ok, so i'm 5 ft 3 and 9 stone 2 and would like to lose 7 llbs - does that justify wine and dairymilk at the weekend any contextualise the problem?

Well i am on RC, i do 1200 (as suggested to kick start your body) mon - fri and then do 1500 at the weekends. I personally think 2200 is to high, and also if you do have a slip eating 1500 it won't be as bad if you were eating 2200.

MirandaWest · 20/07/2012 23:17

Your BMI is in a good normal range. I'd say that if that is the weight you are doing normal eating it could well mean that is the sort of weight you are meant to be if that makes sense.

mummmsy · 20/07/2012 23:17

what's RC? in northern ireland that means Roman Catholic Wink

A number of posters are doing the My Fitness Pal sub-method of EMLW (eat more lose weight). There's a couple of big threads on it, though it's been quiet lately.
Basically it's about being consistent and definitely not starving yourself. You eat enough to let your body stop thinking you're trying to starve it - re-setting your metabolism - which takes a few weeks - then you drop your optimal amount by 15%, earing extra when you do any heavy exercise.
Eg, I don't have a lot to lose (and I'm old!), so I'm eating 1800 cals a day
roughly, which is easily acheivable.
Swing on by and have a look iye!

Soo have you decided what to do?

mummmsy · 21/07/2012 10:40

ugh cookie i know 2200 kcal at weekend is too much so I'll prob do eat more to weigh less...i'm active daily so it's not that which is the prob, it's what i put in my mouth!

cookielove · 21/07/2012 11:00

Maybe try and stick to 1700, that way you'll have more to eat which is nice and still enough of a gap to have the odd slide and it won't matter!!

I have to be good, i must lose the weight, so thats why i really do stick to it Smile

Fluffy1234 · 21/07/2012 11:06

I dieted last year and after quite a few months I was in danger of jacking it all in so I did something similar. I stuck to under 1200 Monday to Friday and increased it to about 1800 at the weekends. The weight carried on coming of but knowing I could have a takeaway etc really helped me.
I am quite small incase you was thinking calories sound low. No starvation mode or anything kicked in. I went from 13 and a half stone to 9 stone and have maintained it for 6 months on about 1800 calories a day.

foreverondiet · 21/07/2012 22:54

I can maintain doing that but not lose.

mummmsy · 22/07/2012 20:49

hmmm suppose maintain would be better than nothing...
