For 4 weeks i have been exercising (swimming, aerobics or gym) 5 days a week. ive been watching what i eat and using mfp.

ive lost no weight! how is this possible?? is it at all possible that it could be muscle? (i am doing some weights at the gym)

am so disheartened.

fwiw, im 9st7 (or 9st2 depending on which set of scales i believe!) and 5"3

Check your measurements - while the scales may remain the same, I bet you've lost inches all over. HOw do your clothes feel?

Itwillendinsmiles · 20/07/2012 14:44

When you only have a small amount to lose it is harder in my experience.

Did you take measurements before you started? Are your clothes fitting differently?

And perhaps most importantly are you eating enough?

daisygatsby · 20/07/2012 14:56

i dont have my measurements - but they did take them at the gym so maybe ill ask them to measure me again. im definitely eating enough. i suppose my clothes maybe do feel a bit better.
the scales are a nightmare though arent they? really it shouldnt matter what that number is - but it bothers me!!

Have you been weighing yourself frequently through the four weeks, or just today? I've been tracking my weight (daily Blush) and find it goes up significantly around the first day of my period and also when I ovulate. It drops again straight afterwards, so I assume it's just water retention or something.

And I bet some of it's muscle too, if you've been doing weights at the gym! :)

Hi there (this is my first post on mumsnet!)

Please don't give up, you've done fantastically well over the last four weeks and deserve a huge pat on the back :)

The body sometimes take a little while to catch up with itself, you've basically put it in shock over the four week period. Results in terms of the scales will come soon, but I bet you feel and look fantastic and are sleeping like a log.

Keep going

Wishing you good luck and I know it takes time for the body to adjust so I think very soon you'll start feeling the changes :)

Hi ya
Keep at it, im sure some of it will be muscle , and id deffo check measurements as im betting that you would have lost inches.......considering the amount of exercise you are doing are you eating enough......as you need to eat 1200 calories worth minium, and ur exercise may be canceling them out

Keep going, well done

daisygatsby · 04/09/2012 11:44

so i finally had my measurements taken again at the gym and i have lost 2 inches off my hips and 2 off my thighs - so i am happy enough with that. am starting to get bored of my routine though so need to find something else to do to keep me interested
