I know there are loads of LC threads but I'm a bit nervy about posting on them just at the mo. Grin
I wondered if those of you who are following low carb would tell me about your experiences WRT to feeling better since starting the WOE (moodwise especially) and also about cravings.
I eat a lot of crap unhealthy food. I'm over 15st Not got weighed lately so not sure exactly. I should weigh about 9st. I feel like shite most of the time. No energy, low mood and almost permanent cravings for sweets, cakes, bread etc. The more I eat them the more I want.

Please tell me about how LC helped you - I need some inspiration and motivation.
I'm going on hol at the end of Augsut and would like to lose 1st by then. Is that possible if I start on Wednesday when I go food shopping?

Hello Heifer

I'm no expert (I only started LC last week) but I didn't have cravings after the first day or so, in fact you don't feel hungry inbetween meals. I don't get the "if I don't eat now I think I might expire" feeling anymore, so that bit is great Smile

Moodwise - it seems to have helped with my PMT.

I lost 4lbs last week Smile

Wow, if it helps with my PMT I'll be committed to it for life. My cravings for rubbish cakes etc really increase around that time.
Well done on your 4lbs loss.

I'd give it go Smile I lurked on the LC threads to see what was what and they're really helpful to anyone needing advice Smile. There's also a thread with a link to a spreadsheet where you can see everyone's loss week on week. That is really inspiring - I'll see if I can find it.

Moodwise - much more stable and generally, well, happier! No PMT. I feel more able to cope with the little annoying things iykwim?

Other stuff:
No bloating
More energy/less lethargy (not saying I leap out of bed in the morning but I no longer fall asleep halfway through the day either!)
Better skin (used to have acne, not any more!)

Wrt cravings: definitely don't get them any longer. That doesn't mean I don't ever fancy something sweet etc but it's not a 'craving' - I can take or leave it. The house is still full of crisps, milk choc etc (dp is the culprit!) but I very rarely touch them these days. I used to eat a lot of crap and now am a bit horrified at the stuff I used to shove in my mouth without thinking.

I never get that horrible desperate shaky 'must eat bread or something sweet NOW' feeling anymore. Never. It's amazing how quickly your blood sugars stabilise and then the cravings disappear. I quite often forget to eat these days...
