Can I ask a question about >all< diets please?

How does your body know when to stop losing weight? Are there certain diets where you have to make the decision to curb the diet a bit because if you dont you'll be underweight/ill?

The reason I ask is Im on low carb and lost 3lb in 2 days, another today so 4lb in 3 days.

I joked to dp that in a month I'll be a bean pole.
He said it doesnt happen like that, your body will get to a certain weight and stay there.

Is that true? How does it know what weight to get to? Whats 'my' weight? Do ALL diets stop at a certain point?

All except the most extreme diets stop at some point. Not sure why. Sorry, not terribly helpful.

If you are doing low carb, the 4lbs you've lost will be water and glycogen. The weight loss will still be good but it will slow down from that rate. When i first did Dukan last year, I lost 9lbs in the first week, then usually about 2-3lbs a week from then.

Good Horizon doc

I watched this the other night and it essentially says that you have an ideal weight that your body will try to maintain by, changing your BMR, converting energy into muscle and even increasing your fidgeting.
