Welcome to thread 10 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system are:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry OH NO we're not!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

Weird day yesterday. First without DH, rubbish time at work, dad in host for pre op assessment and AF due so hormones raging...but I didn't overeat which would be my usual reaction. In fact I hardly ate all day.

I had scrambled eggs for breakfast (ate half), then six little chocolates, a packet of crisps and a Galaxy Bubble bar all day (not healthy but not my usual binge standards) then for tea I treated myself to an M&S dine in thing so had a goats cheese tart, potato rosti and a lovely dressed salad. Was so nice and I was really hungry by the time I ate but I managed to leave a quarter of the tart and the rosti so I was pleased. Key lime pie still in tact in the fridge.

Not listened to the CD yet though as been so tired come bedtime but I MUST tonight.

ppeatfruit · 12/10/2012 09:21

Sounds a good start Paddington Smile When eating something truly delish. I say to myself when i'm full but the plate isn't empty 'just put it in the fridge and have it later' But now I don't give myself much anyway!

Solo When you find that ex. start slowly 'cos I've detoxified leading to spots and such!!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 12/10/2012 09:27

Still going well here, scales creeping downwards. I have gone to bed a bit earlier for a couple of nights which I know is helping. Sleep is very often the key for me.

ppeatfruit · 12/10/2012 09:46

Ali IMO and E a good night's sleep is the key for everyone!

ppeatfruit · 13/10/2012 09:04

Okay this has slipped off my "I'm on" Come on Folks where is everyone? Grin Morning BTW

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 13/10/2012 09:08

Ok I got round to putting the cd onto iPod and listened this morning unfortunately DS1 interrupted!

This morning I left some egg and gave to the DSes, not so good yesterday as finished off about 8 chocolates Sad

ppeatfruit · 13/10/2012 09:16

Well if the chox were 'cos you were hungry and you ate them slowly and consciously then that okay Grin If not, we all slip up and just start again later, that's the fab thing about this WOE you don't have to go out or pay out any money or buy shxx diet food to go back on it!!

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 13/10/2012 09:34

Um afraid not pp... But today is a new day!

BigBoobiedBertha · 13/10/2012 10:10

Hello. Marking my place. Plodding along - not much happening. No MNing much at the moment more than anything - have had a hectic few weeks.

Will be back later.

BigBoobiedBertha · 13/10/2012 10:15

Oh and I just wanted to say you are absolutely right about the sleep PP.

It is my biggest downfall. I don't actually eat much most of the time, I never eat so much I am stuffed or bloated. I probably eat the wrong combo of food admittedly but most of the time not that much of it. I have come to the conclusion that the reason I am not that successful is lack of sleep. If I go off the rails badly it is usually when I should be in bed but I am not. Plus there is the hormone problem you create by not sleeping enough and who knows what that is doing to your fat retention - well, I have an idea from all the stuff I have read and it ain't good - so I am sabotaging myself by not going to bed a couple of hours earlier.

ppeatfruit · 13/10/2012 13:36

DH has started the Food Combining Diet or Hay diet talking about combos of food BBB but he totally ignores the fact that I eat fruit on an empty stomach yes but not 4 hours Shock after a meal so he'd be better on P.M. and food combining that's how I lost the weight (oh and the Blood Type as well of course Grin)

Do you have trouble sleeping once you're in bed?

BigBoobiedBertha · 13/10/2012 18:18

No, no trouble sleeping in bed ppeat. Just trouble making the journey up the stairs to bed.

There are so many other things to be doing/watching/thinking about. I do love the peace of the night times which is a pity as far as giving up bad habits like late bedtimes goes. I am really a night owl and it is my time to watch what I like on telly and do my own thing.

ppeatfruit · 14/10/2012 11:17

Morning! BBB the problem with being a night person is it must be difficult when you have DCs to get up for school etc. I've always liked getting up earlyish and 'getting on' with the day IFYSWIMGrin

BigBoobiedBertha · 15/10/2012 10:56

I'm used to it now pp. I wouldn't attempt to do anything that requires actual brain power in the mornings though, regardless of how much sleep I have had. It just doesn't work - I used to try and do university work in the mornings when the boys were at school but unless it was sitting in front of a book, note taking, I didn't achieve very much. Writing an essay or anything that requires extra thought - no hope. Sometime after mid afternoon works best for me. By the late evening, I really get into it which is why I stay up late - to get the peace and quiet to get on with things without interuption.

We are all different though even within our families. DS1 is definitely like me and has been since birth - it could be the way he was handled as a baby or maybe I was guided by him. He never goes to sleep early now - not before 10.30pm most nights. He is only 12 and he is in bed by 9pm so it isn't lack of opportunity. DS2 I am not so sure. He is like DH because he can get up early and get on with things but I am not sure that makes him a morning person - he handles late nights well enough. DH is the same - he can get up early for work but he also likes a lie in which real morning people don't do ime and he doesn't go to bed before 11.30 most nights.

I am just glad that I didn't have real morning children - what a nightmare that would have been. Them getting up early and me only just having gone to bed! Grin

Paddington76 · 15/10/2012 19:45

Been a bit rubbish today, ate a load of biscuits and chocolate in work this aft, which I really didn't need or want. Now not sure what to do about tea - can't decide if I am hungry or not. Think I should be and think I am but feel bad for eating but not sure if I feel bad cos of 'diet mentality' or cos not really hungry.

Feeling frustrated with myself, but trying hard not to beat myself up over it.

Grrrr, hard Sad

Solo · 15/10/2012 22:42

Don't beat yourself up about it Paddington there's no point! :)

Went swimming yesterday evening so that feels good.

I have decided I am often not really hungry when I wake up so I am going to try having a hot drink then and eating a bit later on when I get to work. This will be good during the week when we don't eat breakfast as a family but not so easy at weekends.

ppeatfruit · 16/10/2012 08:58

Morning !! Grin yeah padd what sols said; just start again today or whenever how's it going btw?

doctrine I find making a proper breakfast takes time so If I'm hungry I eat some fruit and have a hot drink as you said (oh and always water) then I'm properly hungry for the breakfast

Solo · 16/10/2012 22:52

Really bad day today...no sign of Aunt Flo (again) either...

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 17/10/2012 09:46

AAh poor Sols If you take the herb Dong Quio (sp.)? it does the job BTW

Paddington76 · 17/10/2012 09:50

Made the mistake of getting on the scales yesterday to find I had gained 1lb since last week despite sticking to the rules so fell off the wagon a bit. But I am back on it again today, even though I am feeling a bit disheartened at my lack of ability to stick to anything, even not dieting!

I just feel like I am never going to be able to shift this weight, even though I know I will look and feel so much better if I can do it. I don't know what is wrong with me, I seem he'll bent on sabotaging myself.

Ether that or I am just plain greedy.

Hope everyone else is getting on ok - it's quiet on here.

ppeatfruit · 17/10/2012 09:57

paddington Well done for carrying on!!! it's only 1lb. FFS!!! it could be water ,muscle or Aunt Flo or a wonky floorboard!

You'll be fine believe me Grin

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 17/10/2012 10:21

Argh I only ate DCs leftovers for breakfast so am hungry now I think.

I walked from the station to work yesterday so that was good as well. Didn't sleep well though so have to be careful not to just eat chocolate mindlessly. Perhaps some protein would be good now.

ppeatfruit · 17/10/2012 10:30

Yes you should eat when you're hungry but first have large drink of water and or green tea or whatever then some food Grin
