Welcome to thread 10 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system are:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry OH NO we're not!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

At least you wouldn't 've been in one of my classes ! Grin (having a 32 yr.old DD1 makes me feel old though!

Solo · 07/10/2012 13:23

Grin I know!!! some of my younger friends have grandchildren!!! If I'd started young, then my own Ds would be 32

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 07/10/2012 15:31

IMO it's best to start later you don't feel you've missed out or are missing out on anything. Though our DS is the one who has the DCs and he started much too young Grin, sadly he's not with either mum now. (he only ever lived with one anyway; I knew it wouldn't last.

ppeatfruit · 08/10/2012 08:54

Morning all Grin!!!It's gone quiet on here I've just recommended us to some lovely ladies so we may get some more action Grin

GoblinGold · 08/10/2012 09:57

Morning! Hello doc - I'm a newbie too.

Solo I did your tea-loaf over the weekend. It was lovely especially spread with butter which might negate the no-fat thing . Will get some flavoured teas though as I bet that really does make it great. I had to bake it for about 3 hours though - think my oven might be slightly on the cool side. Mum and Dad loved it.

Speaking of which they both noticed I'd lost a lump of weight. Hurray! DM is lovely but she's a bit weird about weight and food. She's only 5 foot tall and has always been smaller than me, until she went on medication which caused her weight to balloon. But she kept on buying me clothes etc which were bigger than hers (I was a size 18 - she'd buy me size 22). It became a running joke with DH to see how big whatever it was would be.

So am a young 'un here then? I'm 37... I've even been known to download apps occasionally. Is there a PMcK one?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/10/2012 10:06

Morning :)

Goblin I'm 35 and I have fully embraced apps and all associated things. DH is an IT consultant, so I continuously have the latest thing wafted in front of me Grin There is a PMK one, I quite like it.
Sympathies on the weird parents, mine have always been odd about my weight and critical of me being overweight. But my Mum isn't keen now that I'm heading to be slimmer than her...

GoblinGold · 08/10/2012 10:31

Hi Ali - it is kind of peculiar, isn't it? Mine have never been critical of my weight but it's like in my mum's eyes I'm bigger than her despite evidence to the contrary...

I said to them that I'd like to get down to about 11 stone (another 26lb) and they were horrified. I'm 5' 6" so that'll take me down to just inside the 'healthy weight' range of BMI. I've got quite broad shoulders/hips so losing much more than that I don't think would really suit my frame. I reckon I'd end up being about a size 14 - so hardly a skinny-minnie...

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 08/10/2012 10:37

Hello the book, CD and DVD have arrived, which shall I do first, do you think??

ppeatfruit · 08/10/2012 10:42

Great big congrats to all who are loosing well!!!! It's good to hearGrin

I'm costantly amazed by the MNers on the weight loss club who don't even check out our thread perhaps they think our Original Post isn't true !Grin.

GoblinGold · 08/10/2012 11:20

It's because it sounds too good to be true. I hate being told what to do mardy cow so WW/low carb etc are just bloody awful for me. This way I've lost weight genuinely eating exactly what I fancy when I want it. And I do feel that I can keep it up - it's really helped to sort out my boredom/comfort eating. I luff it.

Solo · 08/10/2012 14:19

Yum yum GC Grin the nice thing about the tea loaf (it's actually called Kim's Cake), is that you can slice it quite thinly and half a slice is enough! it lasts ages!! My Mum made one and used Lady Grey tea which is lemony and it is delicious!

Doc listen to the CD first, because he talks you through it anyway, so you can get started with that :)

I am 48 these days...am going to have a 50th birthday party and I'm going to be slim for it!! :) just so ya know! Grin

See goblin you (well all of us really) are a good example of the fact that there is NO need to count calories at all or eat that shxx diet food !!!! for very successful weight loss

GoblinGold · 08/10/2012 16:36

[preens] Sorry - I know I sound a bit evangelical Blush but it's so nice being able to go out for dinner and eat what you like rather than just sitting there either poking a manky salad and feeling hacked off or pigging out and then feeling revolting. I am a bit embarrassed that it's taken me this long to find it.

Doc - I read the book first - it's a very easy read and the second half is the journal so it's nowhere near as long as it looks. I then did the CD the next night. I don't think it matters, though. And I always sleep through the CD. It's not stopped the weight coming off though. Grin

Paddington76 · 10/10/2012 10:21

Is there room for one more? I only have a stone to go after losing over 2st already in the last 2 years on various diets. I am just fed up with counting, bingeing, and generally feeling shit about myself.

I've done PMK before but never really given it a fair chance - I usually do it for a few days, binge, panic, diet and repeat... My DH has gone away today for 10 days so I am free to eat what I want when I want so think this might be an ideal opportunity for me to get back onto PMK.

I've read a bit of this thread but will continue to plough through and will post later about my day if that's ok?

ppeatfruit · 10/10/2012 11:56

paddington A big Welcome Grin OF COURSE it's ok to post about yr day. You've found the ultimate WOE we all love it!!! Grin

Paddington76 · 10/10/2012 21:43

Thanks for the welcome pp.

I've had a great day, followed all the rules pretty easily. I only struggled a bit this afternoon, but I knew it wasn't hunger so I had a coffee instead. I need to be careful as I am very all or nothing.

Have also got so much done today, work and at home that I'm feeling really positive.

Going to listen to the CD when I go up to bed in a bit but all in all a good day.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 10/10/2012 21:52

Hi all - welcome Paddington :)

Goblin - it is so liberating isn't it?

I'm having a good few days. I have really found my 'full point' and I'm finding it easy to eat smaller amounts and then stop.

I have also got back into weighing myself daily. I know that PMK says not to, but for me it is always a bad sign when I start avoiding the scales.

Solo · 11/10/2012 00:22

Welcome Paddington :) room inside for sure!

I'm having a baaad few days actually...think Aunt Flo is arranging a visit

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 11/10/2012 06:39

Hello Paddington, I am new too.

I haven't finished the book yet but I did go for dinner last night and not order pudding as I wasn't hungry. I did finish my pasta when I didn't really have to though as I was self-conscious about leaving just a little bit Blush. I am definitely an emotional eater.

Does anyone know what are you supposed to do if you have a window to eat e.g. Between meetings but aren't hungry in that window but know it will be a couple of hours before you can eat again?

HaveALittleFaith · 11/10/2012 08:45

Hello all! Welcome up the newbies! Good to have you on board. It's definitely the best WOE ever!

When I started I started reading through the book in the evenings and listened to the CD before bed. I took a picture of the rules on my phone so I could easily remember them!

I'm 31 by the way! Not effectively Pauling at present because I'm almost 12 weeks pregnant :) though I'm still trying to follow the rules I can't focus on not gaining weight!

Sympathies for AF lurking solo, it's always tricky to keep in control then. Try to drink plenty of water.

ppeatfruit · 11/10/2012 08:59

Morniing all Smile nice to see a bit of action on here. Grin solo d'you remember you P.Med me about the Chang book? I've been getting really into the massage following yr lowest ribcage (i do it 35 times every day) and i've stopped putting on weight when i'm in front of here!!!! It detoxifies yr liver and makes yr skin look amazing as does massaging yr kidneys in the small of yr back.
