Does your Slimming World leader contact you if you don't show to class?

Just that really, does your's? or should they?

I am a failed dieter (well sucessful when I attend regularly and spectacular fail when I don't).

I'd really appreciate a little encouragement if I don't show to class or a reminder text or call just before the next class after I miss one. Nothing major just a bit of encouragement like I say.

I love the Slimming World plan but am shy and find groups daunting but do need to go to a group to actually succeed - online doesn't cut it for me.

I joined a class last December, determined to succeed this time, and I paid for 12 weeks in the hope that the financial committment would spur me to attend. Then the next two weeks DS was ill and I couldn't make it, and struggled to cook good menus as he was sooo clingy, then it was christmas and after that I was so embarassed/even heavier and i couldn't go back. I had paid around £60-70 though and I think a phone call to encourage me isn't too much to ask really. Am I being unreasonable?

I know ultimately success is down to me but I am wondering where I can go for that tiny little bit of help over and above a general meeting and a booklet. Asked GP but he just brushed off my question. My BMI is around 48 and I'm 41 yrs old and so want to crack it this time and after 20 years off and on in slimming groups this is the main thing I can identify which has been missing which might help me.

TIA for your input

My leader is bloody brilliant! She has a Facebook page and texts if you are not there. She is a bit of a sarg major actually but it really helps! If that's what you need ask your leader to get on your case.

Yes let her know that's what you need. Other people may hate it and find it intrusive so let her follow your lead

Really? thanks that's given me some hope. Ok maybe I could try and contact the leader in advance and ask if they could do this. Is it part of the service or am I asking them to do more than strictly required?

I think it's part of the service for them to do what it takes- after all, it's not cheap. Get your money's worth!
