Enter your latest weight in the spreadsheet

I've finally managed to wrestle another half pound off, and am reporting in today at 9.13 and 1/2 (again!). I don't know what's going on with me. I have weeks of eating really well, keeping the alcohol down, going to the gym for brutal workouts and nothing happens. I go away for a long weekend and drink Rome dry, then drop. I have had another partying weekend (cricket club dinner on Friday, 50th birthday/wedding party last night) and drop again!

Drinking wine must be good for me!

Grin

Anyway, I'm starting this thread now because I'm off very early in the morning to Athens. I am there until Thursday evening with work, and managing to fit in a day for me on Thursday for a spot of sunshine/sightseeing.

Well done, it is a funny old thing this woe. It's not linear at all

Lost 7 last week by yesterday am had lost 2 more then this am had put 2 back on. Think it's a totm thing plus I ended up having bacon and egg for 2 meals yesterday -was out and about and everyone else had Brie and bacon panini and chips for lunch and croissants for breakfast. Got home later than expected so ate late chicken and aubergine. So not that surprised re weight all, together but know I kept to LCD so will be ok in end

BIWItheBold · 10/06/2012 10:43

Brilliant, heartstart! I must have some of what you've been having.

I have now exactly 2 months from tomorrow before we will be on holiday. I really, really, really would like to be able to drop another half a stone by then - but on the basis of past performance for me that doesn't seem that possible.

I am off on hols at about same time, and want to lose another 10lbs, I have a lot more to lose than you, it's a psychological weight milestone as it takes me in to overweight rather than obese.

I read the stuff about set point which is interesting, but wonder if when you are as near "ideal" as you are it is just inevitably slower as its a bit like fine calibration and we all know that weight fluctuates up and down on a daily basis.

Unlike most people I often find I lose weight on hols because I cannot be bothered to eat in the heat and the thought of a hangover when it's hot is too much for me - so hoping that I can lose some more as it wil be v hot in turkey when we go

vnmum · 10/06/2012 11:26

marking place for tomorrow. I have been in the 9's for most of the week (Finally!) so making sure I don't scupper it today by keeping the food strict and drinking the water so it will still be in the 9's tomorrow on official WI.

So glad I have reached this milestone, been trying for ages to get the damn scales to start with a 9 Grin

Well done BIWI for getting in the 9's while drinking wine Smile and have a nice time in the sunshine Envy

Heartstart well done on resisting the paninis and choosing wisely, sometimes it is not easily done Smile

WillieWaggledagger · 10/06/2012 12:17

i think i'm likely to have stayed the same, due to wine last week and saboteur inlaws... we will see tomorrow

mummyduff · 10/06/2012 18:11

BIWI loving the idea that wine is good for usGrin and well done BIWI & vnmum for getting back into the 9's.

I will weigh in 1st thing tomorrow after a wee and of course naked, think I will be the same after my hols, but will consider that good after indulging in lots of wine whilst awayWink

Drat. I just realised that I forgot (again) to start the new thread with a disclaimer. Please read and digest the following:

I AM NOT A DOCTOR. I HAVE NO MEDICAL TRAINING. NOR AM I A NUTRITIONIST OR A DIETICIAN. THE VIEWS AND ADVICE THAT IS EXPRESSED HERE AND ON ALL OTHER BOOTCAMP THREADS IS BASED ON MY OPINIONS, WHICH IN TURN ARE BASED ON MY OWN EXPERIENCE OF LOW CARBING AS WELL AS READING I HAVE DONE ON THE SUBJECT. IF YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL CONDITIONS OR TAKE REGULAR MEDICATION OR ARE IN ANY DOUBT ABOUT HOW SAFE LOW CARBING WILL BE FOR YOU, PLEASE CONSULT YOUR GP

Well done on the weight loss so far and for that anticipated for tomorrow.

I'm going away for a couple of days, driving down to Fife to pick up a new car well, new to me anyway), so will update the spreadsheet Wednesday morning.

I see there are a few newbies joining us - so just post your starting weight (or index of 100) on this thread if you want to be included on the spreadsheet, and I'll sort it all out on Wednesday.

FiddleDeFat · 10/06/2012 23:20

Actually, BIWI, I think you are perfectly entitled to call yourself a nutritionist.

A dietician has a degree, and further exams plus continuing education credits to retain their license, and almost always spout the governmental crap advice they were taught about low fat diets and cholesterol.

On the other hand, anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, and a lot of the low-carb information comes from nutritionists. Isn't that how Zoe Harcombe describes herself?

So, BIWI the nutritionist, and her swishy cat-o-nine-tails!

SharonGless · 11/06/2012 06:38

Morning all weighing in 12st 5 this morning so 2lbs off and back to what I was before holiday. Good luck to everyone and hope the scales are kind

MsRinky · 11/06/2012 07:22

3.2lb off, so back to pre-holiday weight for me as well.

mummyduff · 11/06/2012 07:59

morning, I stayed the same so not bad after a week away, good luck all x

vnmum · 11/06/2012 08:08

yay, still in the 9's. 9st 13 1/2lb. Looking on the spreadsheet it has taken me since the start of bootcamp to lose the 2.5lb I needed to get in the 9's because of my long stall. About bloody time I say Grin

WillieWaggledagger · 11/06/2012 08:10

no change as expected, but i've had a good run of it so far so can't complain

RadioSilence · 11/06/2012 08:29

A pound off for me and I have reached the goal I originally set myself. I am going to keep going to give myself a bit of leeway and to put enough distance between me and the 10 stone mark that a bad week won't see me going over it.
There is something so psychologically satisfying about seeing the scales start with a 9.

Thanks again to BIWI and all of you. Being part of this has helped so much , and not going to a group means I can weigh myself naked and save a few ounces. Grin

doradoo · 11/06/2012 08:43

No change this week - which is a miracle given my shocking weekend - bread/crisps/cake....

Back to bootcamp this week for me. Was feeling slimmer and about a pound down before yesterday's abberation.

Heartstart · 11/06/2012 09:11

Stayed the same but not too disappointed as its totm and I haven't been to the loo for 3 days !

Livelongandprosper · 11/06/2012 09:25

Catching up on the news here and weighing in at the same as last week (although scales did flicker at the pound below briefly.)

mummyduff You have just described one of my current fears - coming back from a weekend away to find what you found! It happened a few times to me on a smaller scale before my DS finally believed I wasn't going to accept it. However, I can't eliminate the nagging fear he might have a relapse and invite people back after the pub shuts although he hasn't done it since. I hope you are all sorted now.

Well done losers and for those who haven't lost, this week you will do it!

smokinaces · 11/06/2012 09:57

Well I have finally done my stone. Eight weeks and lost 8.70%. Lost the first half a stone in a fortnight, taken six weeks to lose the other. But I'm happy at the rate its coming off and staying off.

I have two months till my birthday and would like to do 8lb in this time to takeme to the 9s. 1lb a week I can do I think. Big night out beginning of July but not going to go silly.

Oh and I am offically a normal bmi for the first time in ten years :-)

teaandthorazine · 11/06/2012 10:08

Amazingly, despite a halfterm full of carby crap, the weight has effectively stayed the same! So I'm weighing in at 10st 8lb, happy with that Smile.

Am off to a wedding in a month which I'm using as a mini goal to lose another 4lbs, though since I won't know a soul there (and am even going on my own as dp is working!) am not entirely sure why I'm bothering to make the effort Grin.

Wearing a skirt today I've not been able to breathe in for the last two years - yay!

Yesterday was protein shake for breakfast, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for lunch and chili minus rice for dinner. One small glass of red and two squares of 85% green & blacks. Perfect Sunday!

NigellasGuest · 11/06/2012 10:56

HOORAY another pound off! Slow but steady loss = must be the best way! (not that I would say no to losing half a stone in a week).

Tea was it you who was into the coconut oil? I think so. Are you still using it? I found a load at the back of my fridge and started a thread on S&B about external uses for it, but I've been looking online at the benefits of eating it and have been trying to incorporate it into my diet. This morning I melted a teaspoon and mixed it in with some Total and blackberries. Would love to know how you're getting on with it.

teaandthorazine · 11/06/2012 11:04

Nigella - yep that's me with the coconut oil! I try to have a spoonful every morning (don't always remember though!) - I don't much like cooking with it but quite like it raw Grin. I definitely notice a difference in my skin and in my levels of hunger if I eat it regularly - if I have a shake and some coconut oil first thing then I can effectively fast for a good 12 hours with no problems. Well worth a go, I reckon!

NigellasGuest · 11/06/2012 11:14

Tea Well it's fab as a cleanser - even 15 yr old DD likes it (she has a major mascara addiction and it gets it all off no probs). DH has parkinsons and has read that it is good for symptoms - worth a try but we're a bit Hmm about that one. Nothing to lose though! I LOVE it on my skin. I've also found it not to my liking when cooking with it (although I guess it would be great with curries or that kind of thing but that's not my favourite type of food). Works best for me melted and mixed into desserty type food.

Are you finding fasting effective? and at what stage is it ok to do a fast?

moonshine · 11/06/2012 12:33

I've already posted on the other thread so won't bore you all again, but 1lb on this week.

Just wanted to say, FiddledeFat you are doing amazingly well - your clothes must be hanging off you!

NotMostPeople · 11/06/2012 12:41

I went a little off the rails while we were away last week, honestly isn't it illegal to go to the seaside and not eat fish and chips? Came home expecting to find I'd gained a few pounds and was pleased to find it was just the one, which has now gone again. I'm back at 11stone exactly and I cannot wait to be in the 10's so must get down to the gym as having the dc's off for two weeks stopped me going.

Still happy though.
